Just the beginning. He is the best racer I've seen in nearly 50 years of watching motor sport. He could go in a kids' trike race and still be fast

Yep bang on there 👍, very similar to Kyle Larson, i know a lot of people will laugh an poke a bit of fun at me for saying this but in my opinion and i know many others GIZ is a fair bit more of a versatile driver i mean just look at what he achieved in the world rally championship only ever done a handfull of rallys and at a much lower level jumps in an AP4 rallycar in WRC2 which is like XFINITY series of NASCAR he was in 2nd place with few stages remaining got a punchered tyre but still got on the podium with 3rd against a lot of very very talented guys , the drifting he,s done is also very competitive ya could go on an on with the stuff he,s achieved in multiple disciplines

@@JasonHartley-fc3xvcompletely agree, but I have full respect for Scotty Mac. I think he would be up there too if he went the Nascar way... just saying 👍

@donbrashsux He is, but put them in similar cars head to head and SVG wins. If it's multi discipline, SVG wins by a space

Nup, SVG loves a good battle and driving through the field is fun for him. His smile says it all. He is a road course slayer.

Great video, Guys. Of course every driver would like an easy ride in the leading bunch of cars, but Shane thrives on the challenge, as witnessed by his comeback after dropping a bunch of position on severall occasions. By now it's well know that he can drive the wheels off any car in any motorsport discipline. He is a once in a generation talent. !!

No way GIZ would wanted to have it from the front like a sunday drive he loves to come through the field having good hard battles like he has done often in the past he always mentions oh i had some good battles today with a beaming smile also he,s no stranger to rubbing panels in a race which people will see in time as you never want to start in a new series giving other drivers a bit of a touch up etc and pissing em all off and end up having a big red X on the back of yr car in future races he is a very smart an whille racecar driver.

The biggest issue with the ovals for him is the lack of practice. Imagine showing up to Darlington and your first ever lap is qualifying. There's no doubt he'll be better at the return visit to the ovals.

I'm an Aussie and like SVG a lot, a hell of a lot. He was arguably the most naturally talented driver in Supercars until his Kiwi mate, Scott McLaughlin , swum over the ditch from Kiwi Land. But dont be fooled. SVG is a hard racer . He enjoys the biff and barge of hard and contact racing. If he sees half a potential gap to win or just grab an impossible 3rd place, he will go for it and buggar the consequences. At the moment he is a fish out of water in a new land with strange customs, laws, rules and very different cars and tracks. Once SVG acclimatises to the US, understands the " good 'le boyz " he is racing against and feels at home in the stupidly left hand drive cars......then you will see the true SVG. You attack him, his car or sabatoge his race, and he will run you off the track. He will do anything to gain a place , but as legal as possible..... but to win, he will throw caution and common sense to the wind.

@@michaelbuettner1487 In the early days Phillip Island , Albert Park and Warwick Farm were the 3 Aussie tracks considered Grand Prix tracks......used to attract the top grande prix drivers in their grande prix cars......Maseratis, Ferraris, Alphas, D type Jags etc, although many times drivers like Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart raced their F2 cars falsely billed as F1 cars.

Not entirely true. I’m an Aussie and love watching him race. I’ve followed him since 2009. Most of the hate towards SVG comes from salty ford fans. To be fair, some Aussies love to hate on SVG simply because he IS a true racer. He never played the media game down here, so I think a lot of people took that as arrogance.

I'm Aussie, and SVG is in a long list of Kiwi racing drivers that I admire. When you think of their small population and how many champion drivers and indeed riders they have produced it's astounding. They punch well above their weight.

Aussie here who mainly followed SVG in Supercars (since his and Scotty’s departure I’ve become a little less interested in Supercars, but still follow), I’m now an avid NASCAR fan.. I am also following Scotty’s progress in Indy. While some Aussies might have an issue with Kiwi’s, many of us are pure racing fans, not pure racial fans..
