Yet Thousands of Chinese Citizens are trying to sneak into the USA, and China has announced that it will not take back its' citizens who are not allowed to stay in the USA. Odd no?

The West often relies on anecdotes in their accusations against China. Eric Li is one of the few who consistently exposes and addresses these issues. Jing should be less apologetic when faced with such questions.

Eric Li lives in China while Professor Jin lives in the west. She has to be mindful, and she is also more academic.

The issue of per capita spending can be answered relatively. Whether China will reach the $30,000 per capita income to match the US is a bit of a red herring. For example, an EV car in China costs a third of the price of one sold in the US. A $30 restaurant meal can feed a family of four well, while the same amount probably only feeds one person in the US. 🤷🏻

An excellent interview. Less emotions and set views by the interviewer and the honesty of the interviewed. It's a credit to Mr Rachman for ensuring a great interview. Kiyu Jin may be an optimist. A very articulate optimist. Sadly learning from the recent past there is a strong likelihood of conflict. This may be the only solution for the US in its efforts to stop China's drive to becoming the largest global economy. Thank you for this interview.

The Bottomline is that the USA can contain China with one simple act. Make it illegal for American financial firms to invest in China - this will stop all cashflow from the USA as well as most of their allies. Introduce absolute trade barriers to all key sectors of China's economy - telecommunications, vehicles, electronics, medical, batteries, and steel. The most effective way to do this would be to introduce quotas that reduce China's imports by 25% each year so that in 4 years there are 0 imports from China. If during this time China changes it's political direction then the process can be stopped or reversed but under Xi this is unlikely. This is the best way to contain China and prevent a war.

Unfortunately, no arrogant dictatorship can escape the international financial trilemma, the Phillips curve, and Okun's law. Therein lies the dilemma for the Chinese Communist Party. In order for a currency to gain trust as an international currency, it requires a highly transparent legal system and its operation, a well-developed financial market, and free capital movement. From that point of view, there are many challenges to the internationalization of the CNY. In terms of gaining trust, China's relatively strict controls on cross-border capital flows are a hurdle for the internationalization of the CNY.
