How I Wrestle From the 50/50 Underhook Position

In this video, I discuss how I take ground in the over/under position. I then discuss how I look for stall calls/push out points as well as how I look for my offense in this position. I finish with some examples from the last few years from my folkstyle and freestyle matches. Hope you enjoy!

Really love to see more content like this from high level guys. In particular, in the US we struggle to develop good pummeling (attacking at the wrist)- the Joe Rau fanatics instructional is great for that stuff. Two situations I'm curious about are A) when you surrender head position for the whip over if anyone tries to turn your shallow underhook into their OK State style elbow tie (this has definitely faded over time) and B) if the left lead right underhook gets you in trouble vs. the Dieringer style near arm far leg stuff. Hope to see more soon!

Trent, would you please do videos on: 1. Throwby, forced whizzer and nearside attackes. 2. Your drop whipover

When your head is in the overhook side of the body, how do you go about attacking the opposite (underhook) side? I’m trying to expand my moves I can hit with over unders and currently I feel like I’m mostly limited to attacking the over hook side with an inside trip, sweep single, and knee tap. I want to try and hit a snatch pick or snatch single but feel the head is always blocking me

Can't you also work with an Iranian lat-drop from that over-under position along with incorporating an uchi-mata throw for variety?
