How I won my AG at Hyrox Stockholm despite being in bad shape

Спорт

In contrast to my usual videos, here is one that is NOT about running technique. Instead, it is about my debut in the race form called Hyrox. I have probably never stood on a starting line with a body that felt this heavy and tired, mostly due to a cold the week before the race. But even though it was frustrating when my body did not respond as usual, it was a lot of fun. And as a very pleasant surprise, my effort was enough to win my age group and a slot at the World Championships in Manchester in May 2023.

"The best money I have ever spent. Great mix of humour, practical technique and theory. It’s brilliant and I have been telling all my friends about it. I’ve knocked 30 secs off my average pace to 4:30 and at 53 I’m absolutely astonished how relaxed I feel running. It’s also really helped my cycling my adapting similar techniques and visualisation. Thanks so much.

If you are fast, I hope I have entered the next age group before you reach 55-59.

Great video. Just shows that you don't need flash images and graphics to make these captivating. Just a great storyteller!

@@SpringSnabbare Well, that makes me really happy as I've been watching a lot of your videos this afternoon about running technique. Learning a lot, although trying to then tell my legs what to do is another matter!! Thanks for all you do.

Well done! My friend and I will be competing in the women's doubles Hyrox in London in a couple of weeks- our combined age is 110. We also have spent about four months training for the event. We won't be fast- we're just aiming to get around😀

Love those ego boosting carbon marshmallow shoes ;-). It does not make you a better runner mechanically. Faster perhaps due to technology but it’s not your mechanics per se. But hey whatever rocks people’s boat. I am saddened by todays running shoes. New WRs being broken left and right AGs new records it’s all ego boosting but not real records imho. Bekele had it right you can’t compare today’s records with yesaterday’s non carbon shoes. What’s next spring loaded stilts? Sad.
