Ғылым және технология

The 50mm is often overlooked as a landscape lens but Kemper shares why this lens often finds its way into his camera bag. He also recently got to use the Sony 50 1.2 GM for a trip to the Colorado mountains and he shares his thoughts on his time with the lens.

Hi its great video. Could you help me in 50 mm Photography? I use 35fim camera with canon stm 50 f1. 8 at f8 f11. Could you give me a suggestion how could I use my tripod with 50 mm. Which is the Best highness of tripod when taking photos a flat are? Because min. Distance of focus is 11m át f8. When I taking a photos in fildes i have to turn up the body Because the for ground will be unsharp. But in these case the sky will be too much. I would like to downside of photo will be at minimál distance where everyting is sharp. Of course i can cut my pic in Ps for panoramic wiew but What do you think whats the Best method at tripod using? Thanks Best r.

Great video. Some truly beautiful shots presented. The beauty of the Sony f1.2 is the consistent sharpness at landscape suitable apertures.

I was not aware of the true potential for a 50mm in regular landscape photos until I saw this video. May have to think about renting one to check it out. Awesome photos. Thanks

Thank you for sharing this content. Nice shots and awsome locations. I like landscapes, but honestly had never thought of using a 50mm lens. However, I see the point you and others are making when suggesting to try it. I have a great range of prime lenses, but kind of lazy enough to carry many to cover all potential subjects and always struggling to predict what would be the optimal few of one to carry for the actual assignment. I have already used the 55/1.8 and the Voigtlander 50/2 APO Lanthar with no regrets, but stiching is yet to be explored.

Great photos. It opens new perspective using prime lenses. Which focal length did you use - F11?

Thanks for making this video! I really liked how you emphasized how the 50mm makes images that help the viewer feel present. This reminds me a lot of legendary street photographers that used the 50mm for the exact same reason. I've started challenging myself to use the 50 more, and your examples and points helped a lot. Cheers!

A = 85mm lens creates formal looking photos. A 50mm says I mean business, but I could also be fun sometimes

a 24-200 does that count? I'd never bring a long prime for landscapes...But a nice superzoom is great.

I have used various focal lengths from 16mm to 400 mm in a full frame equivalent, typically you would not buy a f1.2 to photograph landscapes when you're using f8 on up unless you're shooting events

Disagree. While shooting at 1.2 is rare in landscape it can create super creative images. But the bigger thing is that big aperture lenses are just better lenses. The quality of glass is higher and the image is sharper and renders better. While is don’t haul big primes out all the time, they do produce incredible image quality.
