Week 1: Finger Placement and Muscle Memory
Learn and practice the placement of fingers (ASDF for left hand, JKL; for right hand - resting position).
Practice typing these keys for atleast 5 to 10 minutes daily.
Week 2: Numbers and Common Symbols Practice
Learn and practice typing numbers.
Work on commonly used symbols and punctuations for practice.
Practice typing these keys for atleast 5 to 10 minutes daily.
Week 3-4: Keyboard Layout and Shortcuts
Continue practicing letters, numbers, and symbols to reinforce finger placement and build confidence.
Start introducing basic keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+Z, etc.) for common functions.
Spend 5 to 10 minutes daily practicing these shortcuts along with regular typing practice.
Week 5-6: Typing without Looking at the Keyboard
Focus entirely on typing without looking at the keyboard.
Practice typing sentences, paragraphs, and longer texts without glancing at the keys.
Gradually increase the complexity of the texts for practice.
Spend 10 minutes daily exclusively on touch typing without looking at the keyboard.
Throughout the 1.5 months:
Incorporate regular breaks between practice sessions.
Utilize online typing tools and games for practice.
Maintain consistency in daily practice for at least 10 minutes.
