i tricked my brain to look forward to exercising by eliminating stimulant drinks altogether and only drinking pre workout before gym, that way i was always looking forward to the nice dopamine hit i got from the pre-workout before gym,,, but then in time i just got used to the overall dopamine boost i get from working out altogether and was able to go to gym even without drinking pre workout, just started liking it overall

Thank you for taking us along your amazing fitness journey. Staying fit and active and most of all healthy is such an important task. Having ADHD really makes this a whole world harder, than it already is 😢

i think one needs a support foundation, and also feel like they are loved, and have friends. If someone is alone and neglected, and socially awkward, and too anxious to go anywhere or be around people... then exercising or any sort of self improvement is going to... probably, I think be impossible. I think to fix that, the person needs to be shown by others that they are loved and supported. Make them "Feel" it. Then the person will have the drive to want to live and improve.

This is an awesome video! I have gone through a lot of what you talk about in the video. During the Pandemic my wife and I would walk an hour a day all throughout my neighborhood (we have trails and sidewalks for many miles, along with Alligators in ponds along the way to keep it spicy). I lost a lot of weight (> 50 lbs) and was doing well physically. Fast forward to now and it’s been over a year since I’ve had a consistent walking routine. I finally figured out that I can take 30 min in the morning out of my work day (I work from home) and walk with my wife. I’m going to start out doing that and maybe add on another 30 min later in the day or strength training, etc. Thank you so much for this video!

Robert! I'm so happy I could motivate you to start walking again 🤗 Try to start with a simple challenge you could track and remember to MAKE IT FUN! I'm sure you will want to add stuff to it at one point automatically, but that's a perfect idea to start. We are rooting for you! ❤️

Love the idea of focusing on just SHOWING UP. Im thinking of strenght training and walking for my daily workouts ! I will use music + body doubling to motivate me and reward myself with a yummy dinner right after diner ❤ And after 30 days, I will reward but myself a nice perfume :)

hi! sounds awesome. just wondering what time do you exercise with your medication? dunno if I am just being paranoid with the higher heart rate or what. but for me at least working out feels totally different on vyvanse.

Hey! Back when I started meds I was exercising in the late afternoon to avoid heart palpitations, but that got better really quickly. It takes a few months for your body to adapt to the side effects so hopefully that's the same for you too. Nowadays I do it whenever I feel like it, but I do love the mornings especially cause that's when the motivation is highest. Maybe you could start with afternoons or do lighter workouts in the morning? Morning yoga feels amazing!

What role did ADHD medication play to establish your healthy habits?

I had to make exercise a daily habit and once it became a habit, I just do it.
