…aaaand if you were a magician, you could do all these live, in the same sequence no cuts, no AI, no editing. But, not to worry, you are a tech wizard! And, either way, you’d still need Your Lovely Assistant.😊
Thank you for sharing this with us! The AI-interpolation part was what explained most for me. The cuts seemed so perfectly smooth, almost not human :) Great job, Kevin!

50% is the idea and vfx skills, the other 50% is the ability to control your movements so precisely that you get usable results and because you're so good at the first half AND the 2nd half, which is basically acting, these videos come out perfect. You have a gift for performance art!!

Your ability to maintain facial expressions is the most impressive part for me tbh, you keep very specific facial changes, and have a huge amount of control over your face muscles which is honestly crazy.
The most magical thing about this is your wife's patience
They say “a magician never reveals his secrets”. But Kevin does because he is so confident that he will never show similar magic again and surprise everyone with a unique one. Hats off to you for ideating and executing that masterpiece 🤩🤩

I think one of the most underrated skills you have is being able to hold very still and repeat motions very well, so a lot of these editing tricks are easier to do for you in post. Just so impressive, though, all of it!

I see you. The real trick was getting people to believe transposition was separate from teleportation and that you actually had 10 items in your list.
The real magic is a loving supportive partner 🥰
Now I want to see a magician recreate this video but without any editing! 😄

This is a masterclass at video editing trickery and really showcases perfectly the importance of planning! So good Kevin! I've wondered how you did it and I'm blown away to find out it's a continuous shot (kinda) but that somehow makes a lot more sense! Your wife's help and expressions were also great! 😂 I'm inspired!

Hello
The true magic is your willingness and generosity to share by revealing everything. Huge respect!
I just discovered this channel and I’m in love. I LOVE seeing how things work and how things are made(the show how it’s made is my jam). Thank you for this 🙏
I’ve been dabbling in trick camera work since I was a kid in the 90s with nothing but a VHS camcorder, so it’s always fun to see how these effects are done so well. Great guide video!
That After Effects project is filthy, but the result is amazing. Truly a wizard to make the explanation more magical than the illusion.
the phrase “with the magic of editing…” is the embodiment of this video 👌🏽
I think you are leaving out your insane body control and sense of magic. Lots of life hours went into this besides the edit! Incredible. Thanks for sharing.
Unbelievable, you worked so hard editing the video in 168 layers.I Salute you.❤

Thank you very much for sharing this, brother! I saw the original video and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to know how you made it, but I didn't think you were going to give us the behind-the-scenes!
Really well done. The transition between poses so helps to keep everything together.

Love this breakdown, Kevin. The pencil balloon bit baffled me. Nicely done.
Kevin Parry I absolutely loved this video! Thank you for creating such quality videos!
I'm going to have to watch again, because now the balloon deflating is the most impressive part. I'm sure I saw a balloon deflate (or I was) but that means you animated it, as we never saw a balloon deflate in your top-down shot. Alternatively, it could be simply that the sound effect made me think I saw it deflate!
The pencil through balloon is close to plausible. If the balloon isn't fully inflated and you're quick, you can drive a needle through and out the other side without popping it. The skin will naturally be thickest at the mouth and the opposite end. You can then pull a string with the needle and thread it through the center of the balloon. I've done this before as a party trick. I imagine a pencil is too large for the latex to seal around compared to a needle. I didn't think that *all* of the tricks were props and editing magic. Very impressive!
Honestly, the first time I saw the video I thought Kevin was just really good at magic.
the fact that all the movements line up is the real magic. This man's muscle memory and movement precision is on point! Even with the A.I. its impressive
@SgtSupaman
Жыл бұрын
It isn't muscle memory. He is just using very basic and quick movements that are easily covered up in editing. He doesn't even move to get the objects. Someone is literally right there handing them to him so he can stay in one spot. How is that impressive?
@aRogueJosh
Жыл бұрын

@@aRogueJosh , what kind of an idiotic question is that? Yes, I have basic motor skills and could do this. So can you.
@aRogueJosh
Жыл бұрын
@SgtSupaman a sensible question is what it is. Sure you *can* do it, but will you? Will you go through the many *many* takes and failed tries till all your movements line up perfectly between cuts? I'm impressed by his effort and talent. If you're not, then so what? (Also throwing pebbles at my "grammer" is base)
@SgtSupaman
Жыл бұрын
@@aRogueJosh , first, I didn't say anything about your grammar; all I did was answer your question, so I have no clue where you are getting that from. Second, he shows us in this very video that all he had to do was write down the steps so he could do it all continuously. He didn't do take after take. Again, the movements are all super simple and easy to mask. You, me, and anyone else could have done all those movements and been able to mask them with editing in just a single take. Is the end result creative and fun to watch? Yes. Is it an impressive display of skill? Absolutely not.
Hey Kevin, new subscriber here! I am not a videographer and know nothing about After Effects (or any other video-editing apps or modalities), but I actually really *liked* the "technical explanations", and wouldn't mind seeing you explain more! Between your skills, AI, and the amazing way the human brain perceives (or doesn't perceive!) what our eyes see, I find more magic in your videos than in just seeing live illusions. Thank you for the fun (and education) you bring!
Beautifully done ! Hats off to your dedication and creativity!
Thanks for sharing the magic us KP! What Ai interpolation program did you use? Or was it something inside of After Effects?

This is gold! I love it! Cool breakdown! I gotta say I didnt see the shirt color change! I ve been watching you on Linkedin. You are one of my fav vid creators! This video is brilliant! Team work! Thats where magic things happen :) Best from Poland!
If there's one thing I realized watching this video, it's the importance of having a very supportive and cooperative companion when filming camera tricks like this. I wish I have a wife who is so supportive as Kevin's.
The original and the explanation are absolutely amazing!!
Yeah, the blends were extremely smooth, but some were still noticeable enough to tell the tricks were done with clever editing. Thank you for explaining, only saw the original just before I watched this, but it's still very impressive work.
Wonderfully detailed and brilliant video, Kevin! I just recently discovered the wonders of the "Morph Cut" (in Premier Pro) and it works the way you describe more generically the AI software interpolation. It did an amazingly good job of seamlessly covering the cutting out of 15 seconds in the middle of a locked off, talking head interview. Thanks for the inspiration!
What a Wonderful patience you have for creating this video however there is None doubts for doing this so thanks you so much I need to watch this to inspirasyon myself mode.!
So inspiring. Great work!
im just as impressed with the editing as the original video when i thought it was "standard" magic .. im learning 3ds max at the moment, and boy editing can make alot of things today

Brilliant! I watched the first video around 20 times and still never saw the shirt change colour... Now I know why... Excellent job and explanation.
Amazing! It's even more impressive now that we can see how you did it! Did you have to do any sound editing or foley? The sounds on all your videls are so good, and they really help sell your visuals as reality.
That is planning and lots of effort. Congrats!!
