    The best to treat fowl pox is by mixed turmeric with water and apply on the part of fowl pox and all the fowl pox will dry and taking the dry skin out.Apply the turmeric everyday and the chicken will cure sooon.Apply the turmeric side of the mouth on the other chicken in the same herd to prevent the spread of fowl pox

    One of my favorite roosters we noticed the other day has fowl pox. I do not like conventional medicine and so thankful for your video. We have a milk cow and give the flocks homemade yogurt already but I will definitely be picking up some elderberry tomorrow!

Since my flock had the external form of the pox I felt giving them immune support, fresh air, and sunshine was the most humane approach.     @@LittleCountryCabin I'm so glad to hear that. My favorite rooster, Snickerdoodle, came down with fowl pox over a year ago and by the time I figure out what was going on, it was too late, so I am glad to have this info for future reference. Snickerdoodle had the moist kind, unfortunately.

    thats great that it worked! Did they just have the pox on their combs? I like the heavy timbers at the bottom of the chicken run

    Yessir the pox seemed confined to only the comb/head area. A few other hens showed slight spots over the next day or two and then everybody started healing up and got over the pox before a week. I can’t explain it I just know it worked🤗. We are very pleased with the timbers. Keep critters out!! Thanks for watching and God bless y’all!!

    🤣🤣 funny! Obviously we didn’t vaccinate. I’ve never had an issue before but this year has been bad for so many things. I’ll be glad to put 2020 in the history books lol.     Just found this video and so appreciate it! I made the decision to not isolate as my flock is small and o think I was late diagnosing. I have one bird with significant dry pox the other two are fine. I haven’t known what to really do to support them. Adding in elderberry today. Since I don’t make my own yogurt or have a cow do you have any other suggestions? Probiotics? Can you use people probiotics?

    Thank you so so much . I just discovered my leghorns have the pox and I have 2 different breeds of chickens. I have been looking for a treatment and I just happen to have a whole bottle of elderberry syrup. Will start them all on it today. I kept seeing toothpaste which has fluoride in it. I dont want to give my birds fluoride. Thank you again for sharing.

    Can you explain a little bit more about the elderberry syrup? Is this something you prepared or was an over the counter purchase? I’m dealing with my two sick chickens right now 😢

    I sure can😀. I used some syrup that I had made but you could use a store bought version such as Sambucol. After I made a batch of syrup I fed the cooked berries to my chickens which gave them even more anti viral protection. I was so pleased at how quickly they recovered and at how vibrant they were after. I have a video showing how i make the syrup as well. It’s not fun to see any of our animals sick and I hope yours recover soon and are healthy and happy. Thank you so much for watching and God bless!

    Great video! I have a broody hen sitting on eggs that should hatch soon (day 17/21) and I suspect she has fowl pox. Would you do anything different for a broody hen or chicks? The rest of my flock seems unaffected

    My apologies for not getting back sooner. It’s such a busy time! I would just make sure your sweet mama hen has access to water with the syrup. I haven’t had problems with the younger chickens drinking from the same water. I feel like it boost everybody’s immune system. Good luck and keep me posted on their progress. God bless❤️

    A couple of days ago I just discovered several of my hens have fowl pox. I wasn’t sure what to do. Just found your video and will get some elderberry tomorrow. Can I use store bought because I don’t have access to elderberries. Also can I use a good yogurt from the store?

    I know how frustrating that can be. We work hard to take care of our flock and something beyond our control can really deal us a blow. I’ve been supplementing with my spent elderberries from making our elderberry syrup to help keep their immune system stronger. So far we haven’t had to deal with any pox this year.     so your chics used to stay in the barn or free range? it occurred to me that sun shine may make a big difference, i have a few gangs of baby chics, but looks like one group of young brahma catch this pox problem, they are the only gang that don't go out in the sun everyday..

    I'm going through it too. I feel like I'm late on treatment. 2 girls must have had it. I thought my hens were just pecking on the new chicks. Now I got a girl with a closed eye

    I haven’t fed the dry berries but I do feed some of the reconstituted berries from making elderberry syrup. I don’t think it would be a problem feeding the dry elderberries. They have much the same texture as dried corn. Thanks for asking a great question and for watching. God bless😊

    I used some of what I had made for the family but if I had to do it again just for the chickens I would change things up. One thought would be to cook some of the dried berries down with water and not add a sweetener. Just add some of the liquid to their drinking water and feed the cooked berries to them as well 😀. I tried to drop the link to the video showing how I make the syrup for us but couldn’t. That video link is actually shown at the end of this video. Hope this helps😊.     Elder is a tall shrub that produces berries in the summer. They are very small berries that grow in clusters. Commonly known as elderberries. You can order dried elderberries from Mountain Rose Herbs (link in description box below video) if you would like to make elderberry syrup or juice.     Since people get chicken pox, shouldn't chickens get people pox¿¿¿ Since it's a virus (same as corona), did you get them all little masks? I pray they all get okay.

    Thank you for asking. I’ve never experienced wet fowl pox so I can’t say if it would. If my memory serves me right, wet fowl pox is more serious and can turn fatal very quickly. I would feel comfortable using the elderberry as an immune boost/support but would definitely recommend consulting a vet for treatment of the wet pox.     @@monishmg8576 I mixed about 1/4 cup of elderberry syrup (or juice) into their 2 gal water container. I offered only this water mixture for several days in a row. I don’t remember the exact number of days but not more than a week.
