How I travel with camera gear (Update: September 2019)

In this follow-up to my previous video on how I travel with camera gear ( • How I travel with came... ), I describe how I've switched from the Peak Design Travel Backpack to using the Gregory Compass 40 as my primary method for carrying my gear on trips. I also demonstrate using a drybag to carry camera gear, following up on a previous video in which I described how to protect your cameras from water ( • Five ways water can ru... ).

    Louis, I did and in fact I have talked to folks there when the bags first came out and I also have a friend with one. They are not for me but they do have some nice features.

    I did take a look at the Action X bags when they were announced. None of their camera cubes work for me. I am actually pretty puzzled by them as they really seem to ignore people carrying big lenses. The only camera cube they have in the new lineup that even comes close to holding my longest lens with a camera body on it is the DV Extra Large but they say it’s only compatible with the X70 probably because it’s so deep. In theory my existing camera cube (the one I showed in this video) would actually fit into the X30 so that makes it somewhat interesting for me.The Gregory backup I showed in this video has been fantastic but it is starting to show some wear now but it’s so cheap it’s easy to replace it.
