How I took this photo | Becorn with a Butterfly
Ойын-сауық
This photo took all summer long. It was an amazing experience, especially to share with my three year old daughter. She named the caterpillar “Reedit,” and when it emerged as a butterfly, it graduated to the name “Roddit.”
The print is available on my website: www.davidmbird.com

Thanks for watching! I’m working on a new full length episode about Orioles right now, but in the meantime I thought it would be fun to share this short little video.

So eloquently articulated. I agree.
Thanks everyone! I’m so glad you enjoy the Becorns. If you want to see more, I’m active on Instagram (@davidmbird) and Facebook (Becorns). I try to make just one long video per year for KZread because they’re quite time consuming. I’m working on “Episode 3, Orioles vs Catbirds” right now and it should be ready within a month or so :)

I love the creativity, This has been the first time I would consider buying art for my home instead of creating it myself, it feels special in a way I can't explain

Yes never leave again! Lol
I think I need to make me some little guys and put them in my studio. When I was a little girl I used to make them and play all day in the woods with them. They just make me smile!
What a wonderful scene!
These Becorns are so cute 🥰
i love this behind the scenes look at the photos!
Cute, creative, beautiful, colourful, nature, ... This form of art has everything and it's already my favourite kind of art. Maybe even the most beautiful artwork i've ever seen. (What's even so special about a Picasso? ;) ) I would also love to see a movie about these Becorns. I think it would be a real blockbuster. Better take a patent soon before disney or pixar steals your work and this idea ;)

Not how patents or copyright work Patents are for technological innovations that solve a problem (which this isn't). Design patents are closer, but are meant for industrial design outputs, not creative arts (these probably would have too much variation, and also not enough non-obvious features for it to apply) Copyright applies automatically, and already protects his images and characters he creates Trademarks (which can be registered, but also apply automatically) would already protect e.g. the term "Becorns", and would generally prevent anything from being confusably similar or implying an association with the original creator
😮 Didn’t expect another video on this channel! Awesome!
Your videos are special. Every time I watch one I feel like a kid again.
They must be awfully quiet too....💜

Amazing wonder in Beacorn's eyes! I LOVE those little beings! Thank you SO MUCH!
I raised hundreds of monarchs in San Diego. I greatly appreciated this video. The beauty of the life cycle of the monarch is my favorite nature life cycle story. So majestic so awe inspiring
Wonderful to see you! This was so beautiful!
Wow!!🌱🦋🌿🦋🌱
That's so beautiful. Don't stop making videos like this. It's very good and healthy for every age.
¡Que paciencia, Por la gran Púchica!
You're such an artist: so patient, focused and detailed oriented! 😃
What a joy it is to see these little guys and all the hard work you put into them
My dad showed you to me and I have been loving your work. I'm going to make some Becorns of my own.
That is a bl**dy-good photo, and a sweet little character.
Creative and interesting video. Hope you post more of your work in the future. 🌟💚🐿️
Amazing! I love this so so much! Everyone should be so in awe of nature that the protect it and watch it and just let it be free!. I love your little Becorns, they have such so much character and are so sweet. Butterflies are some of the most beautiful marvels of nature. Thank you for capturing this amazing transformation🤗💕
Amazing, so beautiful! 😊 Becorns are adorable, how clever & creative 😍
These Becorns are so delightful! I love how their little facial expressions change depending on the situation. Also enjoy seeing how different animals behave and interact with the Becorns. Thank you for helping us see the beauty of nature through the eyes of these tiny woodland creatures.
Hi David, your Becorns are beautiful, they fit very well like secretly living little native/nature creatures such as elfs and trolls and so....very mystical...love them ❤️
I'm so glad you are still doing this. I found your channel today and I love miniatures, wildlife and art made from other things!
David, I found myself sitting and watching these videos with wide eyes, smiles and grins. These creations are absolutely amazing, thoughtful, and and and! Can't wait to hear the next story you have. You also have a great voice for story telling. Have you ever thought about doing a book or children's book with your photography as illustrations?
I can't imagine how the algorithm got me here but I'm certainly glad it did. These little chaps remind me so much of the late great Oliver Postgate's pioneer children's television show Pogle's Wood. I really feel like you are keeping that fragile spirit of wonder alive. More power to your elbow mate.
Yay! These make me so happy, thank you!
Yay! Ya did it again Davey boy another banger video :)
Seriously. A stop motion movie in this style would be so beautiful.

this is INSANE. Your creativity blew my mind. Absolutely gorgeous series. LOVE!
These tiny little becornes remind me of my childhood, when I had books with pictures from Ernst Kreidolf, who imagined creatures somehow similar. I immediately fell in love with the becornes. Thank you so much, Mr. Maxwell, for sharing with us these most beautiful pictures! Best regards from Switzerland, Hessu.
How could you NOT love a Becorn? They are precious. ❤
The fact that anything of that scene were photoshoped as I /obviously/ assumed... I'm glad and amazed, this level of talent/commitment still exists! 🥺❤️
Love it and give God thanks and His blessed hands on you continuously for this talent. ALL the glory is His. 😃👌
