in my language journey, I’ve been focused and intentional since day one on becoming my most expressed self.
✍️ English became my secret language, my safe language, in which I could write my thoughts on the internet when I was 10 and was running my first ever blog without anyone in my life knowing (2005 was WILD)
🫶 English was my gateway to understanding human emotions - I would only listen to music in English (as a kid I would listen to my Mom’s playlists, so anything from Sting to Shakira would fit)
📀 movies and shows in English about teenagers were perfect because have you seen Polish teen shows from the 2000s? how was I supposed to relate to those kids? at least the ones speaking English on my computer had more interesting lives (as a screenwriter I’m going to work on that, Polish shows deserve so much more)
all of this to say:
English has always been my therapy.
it became the language of my soul when I fell in love with it as a kid.
and in many, many ways, English became safer and easier for me to exist in.
I know that for you English might just be a tool to get further in life, and that’s perfect.
but when you join my spaces, you will start to feel how English feels to my mind, my body and soul
and as you can see many people resonate with it because we NEED a closer relationship to communication in all languages, especially in the technological age.
