Oof me probably but I have so much stress because when I was little my parents left me a meeeeesssssssssss 😂🤣🤣
Having stuff neatly stacked on shelves: OCD Level 1 Having it organized into matching bins with printed labels by category: OCD Level 2 Having some of those bins dedicated solely to stuff sacks and pouches (a container just for containers): OCD Level 3! So glad I’m not the only one. Love your setup.
System is great. It’s having the energy to put everything back after each trip that I have trouble with.
I had *OCD* but I'm now *CDO.* It's just like OCD, only the letters are in the proper order! Nice video. Thanks. Much needed.
It was oddly satisfying to see how organized your gear is. I’m obsessive about keeping my gear organized, and this video was like Zen for me.
LIKED for someone in the backpacking/hiking community that also enjoys and appreciates firearms!
Thanks for making these. I can show it to my wife when she says I have too much gear. 😆
Your channel got me hyped an out the door for back packing. I've watched you for a couple years now an I'm just now finding out you're a gun guy as well! Love it!
can you show the gas canister filler tool and how to use it pls
You had me at the CCW statement , and then, You said your a Firearm Instructor , and then I saw that Glock Patch, and then, I saw How Organized you are , and for that you get 👍👍👍. Three thumbs up for the Trifecta and a + 1 For your Organisational Skills 👍 Awsome Dan Awsome 😎🔫⛺ 😁 👍

My gear room is pretty much the basement !! Always great to meet another fellow gear junkie ! Gun junkie too !!
Thanks for making a mess for this video! It's helpful to see how you broke down your categories and what kinds of containers you used. Great inspiration.
I have a 4 big bins: Backpacks, grab and go backpacking stuff, family food camping stuff (ready to go), accessories/cord/1st aid, etc.
I am a mess usually.. however when I put things in bins (with a dymo label) I become super organized about it. like I needed a knife for my last backpacking trip. "Where is that knife?" I went to my "knifes and blades" bin and found it. That is SO nice to have a system like that. So utility knifes. Multitools. small knives, big knifes.. all in that bin and easy AF to find which is insane. I started doing this around age 30 after I learned to put things back (like tools) in the same area. It takes an extra 10 seconds but it is worth the hour of your life you get back.
thx for the gear porn. 😁. Can you do a video on refilling empty canisters! Didn't know that was a thing honestly. ✌️🤟

Hello Dan, wow, that is a lot of gear. I do appreciate you sharing this video. I'm am now enthused about organizing my gear closet. I don't have a lot of extra gear, but what I do have is in a disarray. Be safe out there and the very best to you and family. 🤗
Lovin this video Dan. Loved the gas canister tool to transfer gas between cans. You have motivated me to buy a bunch of clear plastic bins and get more organised too.
Yup, that’s how I organize literally everything - outdoor related or not: plastic storage bins and labels. Husband on the other hand: we may or may not have it and if we do it is somewhere in the house or attic or outside or car, maybe, or not.
Bam! I just started to try to organize all of my gear….very timely and spot on!!
That's pretty impressive. After cleaning and airing out my stuff it usually gets packed right back up. But if I had more gear & more space, this is what I would aspire to. Thanks, Dan!
Thank you. That was fun. I’m somewhat organized. You gave me some great ideas. I’ll be buying more bins to get more organized. 👍😬
Thanks Dan. You’ve got quite a collection there! Great organization!
I wish I was organized like that. My stuff is at least in compression sacks and those black locking totes from Walmart. My crap is thrown in the garage. Every trip takes me hours to pack for. You are inspiring my to get my packing time down to an hour.
For not being an organized person, you/your gear looked really well organized. Thanks for shairing.
Just starting out with my stuff it's mainly in some amazon boxes with a few of those plastic drawer systems as a start. I like your setup, just the right amount of organization without needing a card catalog to understand it! Definitely got some ideas as I start acquiring more gear. Thanks for sharing and the video!
my husband and i keep our gear in our closet- i have 2 small bins of stuff and a shoping bag with stuff sacks and things like that. I don't have multiple of anything except first aid stuff and toiletries ( we have an extra sleep system and pack, but they stay with our car camping stuff in the garage) , so that helps. My kid's stuff is mixed with ours. I have a bin for food that i started stockpiling , but my family keeps getting into the good stuff- so I need to hide it better. When we move this summer, I hope to better organize everything in garage or something like that.
Great setup. It makes me want to add a few shelves and some extra totes in my gear corner. Oh...And introduce a lot of gear into it too!
Dan I am geeking out on all the gear I am not quite that organized yet. It I sure want to be thanks for sharing!
You have a great storage system! Thanks for sharing!

I had no idea you could transfer gas from the canisters. This was very useful info thank you!
haven't even watched yet and i can say i've been waiting for this video since the initial subscribe!
Wow! I can only aspire to this level of organization! All of my camping/backpacking/outdoor gear is randomly stacked on shelves in the basement. Thanks for sharing your system. I need to check out the aqua clips. Hike on!
Hey Dan its is great that you have a dedicated room. I do like your drawer idea I may try to fit that in somewhere. Thanks
Great video. Nice ideas for organization. ✌️
You can’t use it if you can’t find it. Good job keeping it found.
Thanks for sharing! I wish I was that organized!
Great video. As I followed along, I took notes on the categories you used. I will do something very similar. Currently, backpacks are hanging in a closet, Down gear is in large, labeled, Rubbermaid containers. Things I typically take backpacking are all in one large Rubbermaid container, so when I get ready to go, most of what I need is in one place. That works great until I want something else and can't find it. I'm doing this.
You're like backpacking version of Jim Halpert. Great vids 👌 I'm eager to take my first backpacking trip
Love your videos man! Congrats and greetings from Argentina!

Ocd me too, I use ceiling hooks to hang my sleeping bags & puffy down things, in old school cotton laundry bags. I love my man cave, oh yeah color coded boxes.
Oh man, far more organized then I am. My gear is sort of stored all over my house (a lot of that is due to lack of storage space in one spot, small house) Wicked setup Dan! Great stuff as always!
Totally inspired to organize my gear!
BTW, absolutely love your vids! Keep up the good work!
This is one giant flex. And I liked it.
I keep simple, just one walking closet full to the top. like your video.

Glad I don 't have room for that much gear, but loving the organization. I may try that!
This video was worth watching if only to find out about the canister filler. I’m always worried about that. I’ll be picking up one of those. Like the organization. My front closet at home has slowly converted to my gear closet. Between being in the Army, camping, hunting, etc I’ve accumulated plenty of stuff. Need to pull it all out and reorganize…again.
Clear plastic drawers! Like bins you can stack them, but unlike bins it's easy to access gear without having to pull them off the shelf or having to shuffle them if the one you need is below another one or several others. Always drawers over bins for me.
A 2A backpacker? Awesome!
wow Dan....you have way more gear than I was expecting. My stash is nothing like that.

Paul Messner Hey Paul! I bet you have a lot more gear than you realize! I didn’t realize how much I had until I started putting it in bins!
LoL!!! This was great. The reason I laughed, was due to, at one point, my gear "organizational" method. Some stuff was in the mud-room, dinner table, kitchen counter, drawers, and----still unpacked from an earlier trip, which I had forgotten and tore the place apart looking for. I'm divorced and live alone, hence my having stuff scattered around. I finally went to bins and small tubs, making life much simpler, and less tiring, since I wasn't searching for whatever.🤣 Great job Dan. Also, from an earlier note to you regarding backpacking the Black Hills in S.D. I've gotten maps for that area, and planning a trip early fall this year. Stay safe. Roger

Hiking to Change oh man I know that statement all too well! 🤣🤣
I've as much gear as you & as many crates etc. but due to living in a studio flat I perpetually move them from A to B. The only way I'll get organized is when I'm in a pine box myself!
Man, I thought I was OCD! I need to get one of those metal shelf units...actually three of them. I use those heavy duty plastic shelves but after several years of use and abuse they are buckling. My plastic bins are 48 quart size and packed to the gills. My closet is stacked with duffel bags (filled with various gear for different adventures) and half of our attic has bins filled with old tents, sleeping bags and backpacks (last count was two external frames and 48 internal and soft backpacks). My fishing and weapons gear are stored and locked in my man cave. I'm not a gear junkie! It's now my realization that I am a gear hoarder! When I lived in Maui I was a jet ski and surfer gear junkie as well. Damn! At 72 I'm beginning to slow down so my new adventures will be into overland camping. My advice to all of you young uns get out there and enjoy it while you can! Anyway, thank you, Dan, for sharing your life with us. You're one pretty cool dude!
I should do like you ! A lot better than the assorted piles of gear that I mostly use... I have a couple of my army backpacks that are HUGE. I believe my sniper pack is around 120 liters. Those packs take a lot of space and are not handy in a storage room.
Can you tell me how you gravity filter with the cnoc vecto bags? I was gonna pick up a sawyer micro to replace my sawyer squeeze mini, but you don’t recommend the micro? Also, I used to use tyvek for ground sheets, but now use polycro. I can send a 9x5 sheet of polycro to you or another who might want to try it. I have extra.
Good ideas. I put most of my gear in side of my cats litter boxes after they get emptied. My backpacks go in the closet along with tents and my cushion mat and other accessories. My family’s backpacks and other stuff go in the attic. How much did you Pay for those plastic bins? Where did you get the studio lights and how much did they cost? Thank you so much for sharing this video. God bless you.
very helpful..wish i had an extra room to do the same...lol..
THANKS SO MUCH!!! Have you given any thoughts on a remix for 2023? Gear storage?
Fishing, Firearms and outdoor gear? I think we could be friends IRL. LOL
Thanks for the tour of your "stuff".
Consider this video watched! Again lol since I’m organizing my gear
Totes. One for my pack contents( minus sleeping bag), set up for the season. And a second one for overflow or unnecessary gear. My wife's pack contents in another tote. Now I need to get gear for my kids and they can have totes too! I'm starting to feel like Oprah, "You get a tote, and you get a tote! Everyone gets a tote!"🤣🤣🤣
I mainly cook with gas but I also start with a British army fire dragon solid fuel stove, I fill my kettle with one thermal mug of water put that on, then I prepare my meal, one solid fuel block saves 5 minutes of gas the water is brought to the boil on my gas stove in 30 seconds once I have made my tea it stays warm in my thermal mug for 2hour,s I find that I use 50% less gas
Great video ! Just found your channel !!! SUBBED !
I'm pretty OCD with my things.... haha Just love to know where everything is at. Also over the years I keep forgetting about some of the gear that I have.... so if it wasn't organized I would never use some of it haha
Once to this point in gear acquisition, how do you select what you take on a trip? Can you do a video of how you plan a trip and pick your gear to pack? Im at this point and have so much stuff, what goes and what dont?
I kind of expected a hook with a packed backpack hanging with all you might need for a 2 or 3 day trip. Not necessarily a bug out bag but a ready all the time pack. Great video though I will use many of your ideas, thanks Dan.
I was thinking of doing a gear room tour, also! I've got shelves and bins, but mine still isn't as organized as yours
