How I stopped cats using my garden soil as a toilet/solving the #catpoo problem

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Having neighbourhood cats poo in your garden can be a big disgusting problem especially when you have little kids or are growing vegetables in your garden. It can also be a big health risk.
After trying several home remedies like essential oil sprays, garlic lemon peels in the garden, coffee and even tea bags, nothing worked. Eventually I have had to devise a solution once and for all and it seems it is working well.

Outdoor cats can be such a pain in the butt. This is a great idea to keep your kitties happy with being outside and keep them from pooping in your garden at the same time.

I really appreciate you posting this video. I did not know cats covered there poo. I have a cat problem also. I have a wooden gate between my house and my neighbor. His cats come in my front yard which is not gated but the on the back and side gates. If it was not for my dog who HATES CATS and bark when she sees them or by how my breathing changes when I'm outside in my yard and have to go back inside. I need a remedy. They can't get under they climb on top. I've even tried vicks vapor rub on top of my gate.

When you find the poop in your garden, relocate it to a hole off of your property, the reason they are coming back is because they still smell it. If you redeposit that poop to another area, problem solved. As well, there is a great plant called scaredy cat. You can buy it and spread the leaves and even plant a few in your garden. The other methods your are doing are great as well. But the scaredy cat plant, putting down rose thorns where you have fresh soil. But putting the cat poop in your garbage can it's attracting then most likely. The wire mesh night help, but not as much as the scaredy cat plant and relocating there poop into another area.

These are very good tips, thanks alot. I never thought about relocating the poop. I have actually been putting it in the trash which is in my garden shed! The wire mesh worked only for a while and then they started climbing over!

I think if you put that same mesh on top of your soil and get garden staples to hold it down, that will help. And cut to size to fit around your vegetables.

Who would’ve thought to use the straps to hold the wire, I hope the cats don’t jump down from atop the fence, you did a good job with the wire barrier. It’s amazing the cat was trying to come through right there on camera happy it worked lol

It is very normal for a cat to poop in everyones garden exept his own. The owner of the cat has to keep his cat in his house. If he wants the cat outside he has to make sure that the cat stays in the garden.

If people would spay/ neuter their pets we wouldn’t have this problem yes it’s a problem my neighbor has 6 cats that have impregnated the whole cat family and just a week ago I hear a litter of another clan geeze. Also I don’t think we should have to pay to secure other peoples animals if I wanted animals I’d have my own. I’d just pick it all up and hand or leave it on the door step.

@@MOLLYNNCARES I got an excellent solution. Once I found ASDA selling almost 50 wooden BBQ sticks pointed on both ends with only 30 pens. Bought several packets. Then stick those on the ground Half way where it popped before and all around my vegetable garden. Since then NO POO. Because if she come to Poo again, there will be a sharp stock on her BUM BUM 👍😁
