I just got into film photography recently and I’m in love with every photo bad or good because It was the only chance I got in the moment and it just makes the pictures that much more special and unique. Your content keeps film alive and inspires people like me.

Yes, this is what I wanted to see. I intend to emulate your procedures in a smaller studio. More of these. Ideas like the projector and the smokey effects really set you apart.

The creativity in this images is just off the charts man! Most photo-influencers on KZread just inadvertently jack up the prices of old cameras. You’re gonna do it old video projectors lol 😂

The secret to shooting film indoors is a lot of light😂. Focusing a lot of these older film cameras without one is a PITA without it.

The minimal handheld exposure time is very dependent on focallength. A 60th is not fast enough for most telephoto lenses but with ultrawide often a 30th is ok.

I guess it's time to dust off the old Hasselblad 500 and bring it my studio. Great video!

The conventional rule for handheld shots are to use a shutter speed no lower than the reciprocal of the focal length of the lens on your camera for 35mm film, and preferably twice as long for medium format. So with a 50mm lens on your 35mm SLR you'd use a shutter speed of no slower than 1/50s, or to be practical these days 1/60s. With a medium format camera and 80mm lens the shutter speed should not be lower than 1/125s at the very least and preferably 1/250s. As you correctly mentioned meduim format camera brings in a huge leap in resolution and will show the slightest handshake.

Besides him talking about the pushing and needing a light meter, there is nothing he talks about in this that specifically applies to film. The title includes film simply because that is what the hipsters click. He knows his demographic. It would make a lot more sense if he changed his light or bought brighter projection equipment so he could use a 1/120 shutter . It's almost laughable that those models went through all that trouble for this man and his fancy vision and art just to come out out of focus. With my models I feel like banging my head against the wall if I make errors like that. But this has an "oh well" attitude when it should. e focusing on thinking "what can I do in the future to avoid this and improve quality " . As always, the film influencers and hipsters are style over substance. And the truly great film shooters who are still alive either shoot digital because they care more about shooting meaningful images than a nostalgia, or they dont make videos about their work. Other than those points, not a bad video.
