How I Sewed my Basic Shirred Top with Shoulder Ties & Embroidered Peplum Details

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hi folks, in this weeks video I show how I sewed up my super basic shirred top with shoulder tie straps and embroidered peplum detail. This is the precursor to another design I hope to complete and making this allowed me to work out the kinks in the design. That being said it is a great stand alone little beach top which would look fab on a summers day with shorts or perhaps some linen trousers. I hope that those of you embarking on making your own shirred top enjoy and find the video useful. Susanne 💕

Great video. You gave important details that all others have left off. Most important is how you finished off your rows.

You always find the most wonderful fabrics! That turned out really well. The wider elastic made such a difference. I’ll be interested to see what you plan to make, now you know it works.

I love the effect shirring gives to clothes and it makes them stylish yet comfortable. Also, it’s so satisfying when the elastic shrinks when applying steam. I love your top. The embroidery makes is especially pretty ☺️

Hi Suzanne, I'm absolutely blown away by your videos. You have amazing talent, it's hard to believe that you only started sewing in 2015!! I'm really enjoying the pattern making techniques as I'm very interested in pattern drafting and you have given me so much inspiration, thank you. Well done on all you have achieved. Your finished garments are so professional looking. I look forward so much to your weekly videos, keep them coming!. I watch other sewing vloggers, but you stand out from most with your pattern creations. Well done 👏

Don't you have to back stitch or tie off the stitch at the beginning and end of each row? Otherwise, it's just a basting stitch that may come undone, right?
