I wouldn't have been able to reassemble my kid's carseat without this video. The instruction booklet is terrible!

I would just like to thank you so much for this tutorial. One of these was passed down to me so I could use it for my daughter. I got it, but it was absolutely filthy. I'd watched Chicco's video on how to remove the padding, but I did not see one on how to remove the straps, and it was very distressing to me because they were god-awful filthy as well. I'm very glad I decided to watch your video, as I followed you step-by-step, and was able to put everything inside of my washing machine, straps and all, and have them sanitized and cleaned. Another way is to remove the back cover by unscrewing two screws at the bottom (one on each side) Then pull out and up the plastic cover. But whatever is comfortable for you.

I do not bother with taking my straps off I just clean those with a washrag really good on the car seat and take the cover off and clean it

You threaded the straps incorrectly. They do have to go up - there's a roller bar in there they need to go up & over. You have to take out two screws on the back of the car seat in order to do it. YES THANK YOU!!! If you don't put the straps around the rollers it never tightens all the way and becomes super dangerous.

That advice has nothing to do with the washing and everything to do with the agitation of the machine. The manufacturer does not want the straps compromised from being twisted and stretched. Just add the straps to a garment bag and toss them in the machine. No sweat.

@@tylerwhales actually no. You don’t wash the straps to prevent dry rotting which is why they are spot clean only.

I washed mine by soaking them in hot water in my kitchen sink, i added baking soda and a splash of white vinegar. The filth that came out was disgusting to say the least. There’s no way spot cleaning could have thoroughly cleansed that filth. So I soaked for about 20 minutes then repeated another soak for the same time and hang dried outside in the hot Sun. They were completely dry within 15 minutes!
