How I post my art on social media without going insane

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

There's more to planning social media content as an artist than meets the eye, so let's talk about my strategy! Don't forget to visit squarespace.com/kelseyrodriguez to save 10% off your first purchase of a website or domain using code KELSEYRODRIGUEZ
There's SO much more to art content than just painting processes. I personally believe that it's extremely important to vary your content, align it to your goals, and alternate between high and low effort posts to really maximize your creative fulfillment on social media and safeguard your mental health to avoid burnout.
Get the FREE notion template here: www.kelseyrodriguez.com/shop/...
The best way to really grow on social media and be able to post consistently is to like doing it. If you hate your marketing efforts you're never going to be able to have the focus and the drive to be able to build a following and maintain it.
By aligning your content to your goals, you're ensuring your continued artistic growth while also serving your target audience. It's a solid strategy, and I hope you put it into practice!

Love your in depth videos, Kelsey! As someone with ADHD, I've always found it really tough to not get lost in all the various things I want to do with my art career. The different avenues an artist can take with it can get so overwhelming for someone like me who wants to do just about everything! But your organizational skills have taught me a lot and helped me learn how to work smarter, not harder. Always appreciate the work you put into your videos and it definitely inspires me to approach my own KZread videos a bit differently! 💙

I struggle with having content variety, but you’re spot on about me making high effort content one after the next. I crochet and I know my audience likes crochet doll tutorials, but that takes me a good week to create which I can’t afford to do all the time. I feel like it’s also harder to make different types of videos on crochet on the regular unless it’s tutorial on different stitches which are more low end efforts. Great video btw!

I wish that I had found this video sooner! It would have saved me from a lot of heartache and even a lot of wasted money that I spent on social media coaches that really got me nowhere. You made me realize that it's completely different when you're an artist vs being a social media marketer. I especially loved how you explained that we should look at our own goals because I've been taught so many times that you post for your customer, not for you, but I think that's what made me burn out and hate not just posting, but also my art itself. Thank you for this great video!!! 😀

I’m not sure if you’ll have much advice for this, but I figure it’s worth a shot. So, I want to start posting my art and make videos sharing my journey; I’d definitely fall in the category of “come along with me as I’m self taught” KZreadrs, where most of my posts relate to sharing my progress and such. My roadblock is that although I want to build a sense of community and rapport between myself and my audience, I still want to maintain personal privacy/not reveal my identity. As I’ve grown older I’ve come to realize how much I value the quaint nature of being “just another person” in a crowd, but I also know I would feel unfulfilled if I didn’t at least try to build a platform where people can share their support, ideas, and growth with each other. In short, I want to be a part of something meaningful, but I don’t know if that will be possible without ever showing my face. Coinciding with this, I’m struggling to find a business name that accurately portrays my brand, while keeping my identity private, yet isn’t so mundane or so unique that no one would remember it. And also, I’ve struggled figuring out how I would physically go about it. There’s the option of only showing hands, but is that too impersonal? Maybe only show half of my face, but which is more sustainable, only showing the mouth and below, or wearing a face mask and only showing the eyes? Then there’s the option of going full-disguise; wear such a transformative makeup/hairstyle that I’m basically unrecognizable from my natural form; but then that would require immense effort every time I wanted to make an engaging video. I’m just really rattling my brain with it. One of my favorite artists when I first got serious about art was ErgoJosh, who started out as a “no-face painter” for lack of better term; but even he eventually made his identity public. The only other examples of successful creators like this I can think of are Corpse Husband, and VTubers, but those are unique and not necessarily in the realm of content I’m striving to make. Do you (or anyone reading) have tips/thoughts about this?

Here on youtube, there's a guy who makes toys and he prefers to be anonymous, so he uses a hand puppet and altered voice to relate to/perform for the audience. For the rest of that, if you need to, read marketing and branding books, then pick the first best thing thats available that comes to mind to operate from. It's what you do that matters more than what you're called. chubbyemu channel with millions of subscribers is like an investigative medical horror storytime channel. Stop overthinking and start making stuff and sharing it lol
