I wrap my paintings around a wooden dowel before placing in a tube. Those tubes get bent really easy
@strokesandhues
Жыл бұрын
That's a good option. Quality of tube also matters
thank you! love your work...

Thankyou so much that was very informative. I use water based acrylic paints so I apply polyurethane after the painting is finished. My question, will the polyurethane crack if I roll the painting too soon, how long does it take the polyurethane to dry to roll.
Have you rolled to ship any OIL PAINTINGS? If so; can you tell me the outcome please? Thank you for your technique with acrylic paintings.
Thank u so much for this ! ♥️ Does this work for textured acrylic paintings with a bit of gold leaf work too? Wont it get cracked or texture come off when u roll?🤔
Can you role paintings like this after varnishing? Thanks for the helpful video!
❤
I wanted to use gilding, is it okay to roll it?
Where do you buy the large paper, plastic wrap and shipping tube?
Is it safe to roll oil on canvass?
Lovely video ...just have a couple of questions if u can help out...does the brown paper not stick to the painting?? Also if we use a ply board cud u pls show a tutorial on how to staple on tht ...

Thank you! Sure I’d love to help you out with those questions. So I used a raw brown paper (it doesn’t have a plastic coating on either side) this doesn’t make it stick to the canvas. I usually get the canvas frames custom made so the carpenter staples on the canvas for me.
That was actually phenomenal.. do u use buckram cloth as canvas for painting ?
@strokesandhues

Thank you so much! No i don't use buckram cloth
Nice job. Exactly what I needed 💕 Do you also send with frame?

Thank you! It depends on the clients requirement. But I do send smaller paintings with the frame. 😊

Hi! I’m so glad you found my video helpful 😊 you can find the pipes at any local stationery store. I get my large canvases stretched out by a carpenter

From where I can purchase this cardboard pipe?
Thanks for sharing. May I ask how long an oil painting takes to dry before shipping ?
@strokesandhues
Жыл бұрын
Most welcome! Oil paintings usually take weeks-months to completely dry. It depends on the layer of oil paint you've used and the size of the artwork which could increase the time it takes to completely dry.
I just painted with goldleaf,, usually i roll my paintings for shipping. But im a bit afraid with this goldleaf, do you have any opinions on packing gilded paintings?
@strokesandhues
Жыл бұрын
Gold leaf definitely is delicate and has a tendency to wear off. Best solution would be to keep a sheet of butterpaper in between before you roll the canvas!
Very nice video …cud u suggest a reliable courier service for international shipment of painting !

Thank you! You can try DHL, FedEx and UPS
Mam can we directly paint on canvas without stretching and fixing it on wooden frame ?
@strokesandhues
Жыл бұрын
Yes you can! Only disadvantage is that it is as thin as cloth and might fold / wrinkle during painting.
Where are you from
that might work for acrylic but oil ?
@strokesandhues
Жыл бұрын
Oil paintings take much longer to dry - the process to pack & ship them is similar but with just a few additional steps.
Does acrylic paintings may crack if I rolled it this way?
@strokesandhues
Жыл бұрын
If you paint thick layers of acrylic paint, it will crack once rolled. Otherwise it is perfectly safe and just needs to be kept for drying for at-least 10-15 days after varnish
Is there a danger of cracking if it’s been on the wall for some years and it looks dry ????
@strokesandhues
2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes when a painting hasn’t been taken care of in the correct way ( for example if it hasn’t been varnished or has been lying under direct sunlight) these things could make the paint crack over the years

Depends on the materials. Oil on canvas is very strong and flexible.
Complete package material used here.. Cost????
@strokesandhues

This costed around Rs. 500
How much does it cost to ship like this?
@strokesandhues

It depends on where it's getting shipped and the weight of the roll as well
