I don't understand why people in this day and age get surprised if a woman is older than her husband. Have ppl forgotten the example of our Holy Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.w who married Lady Khadijah s.a. and he loved her to the point that even after her death he used to weep for her and miss her, this is one of the greatest example for us.

I absolutely agree with you. Age is a number and nothing in front of LOVE. However, honestly, as a rule of thumb, most of the marriage with the woman being older went unsuccessful. You know the fact that women get mentally more mature at any age and they think about a serious marital life much earlier than guys. So age difference can be problematic honestly. Well, although a couple of years might not be of a very big deal but more than that might..

Esbaid - I think you need to see it from a 2020 perspective :) Is it ever going to be perfect you think?! Clearly this day and age is complete different so obviously a lot is going to be different. And I personally don’t see anything wrong with seeing someone from a fair distance without touching and stuff To get to know each other If you think about it.... it is pretty awesome I bet that if there was internet connection and webcams and such BACK IN THE DAYS that they would have seen at this like a good way of getting to know a future husband/wife

If you have your career first then u can marry n have family. If you are unhappy with your life n career then u won't make your family happy if u married before taking your career seriously n priority. I speak by experience. Got arranged marriage n thought hubby will let me follow my dreams n career but he forced me to get pregnant n have a family. Never got a chance to be and do what I really wanted n never been happy before until he cheated n I left him. Do what makes u happy. Do not reply on others to make u happy.

esbaid I will have to admit, I was a “young impressionable Muslim” watching this video and have failed to realize this aspect of marriage. I do agree with you. Ahh it’s a big concern that almost 100k people have watched this and will think it’s fine. I think people think it’s fine since the people aren’t physically alone together in a room. But it’s technically the same thing if it’s over FaceTime. I do however think that I took away some good things from this video and appreciate it. May Allah guide all of us. Thanks for sharing your perspective because I have completely neglected to realize this. I have learned all of this before when I was younger, but definitely have forgotten. Good to remember for the future when marriage time comes inshallah.

It's very good to get families involved and take the time to get to know not just the sister, but her family. Many times so many problems and divorces can be avoided by taking time to really get to know each other and each family first before jumping into marriage. So many problems come from family conflict and not knowing each other's expectations or future plans or goals. Very nice story and very good process.

Mashallah, may Allah SWT bless you guys. I’m from Ireland and my husband is from Egypt ( we live in NY). I know by Ryan’s mom name he’s half Irish half Egyptian, a beautiful combination. It was the opposite for my daughter, she was the half white girl and her husband was the full Egyptian. But I have to say out of all Arabs Egyptians wants what’s best for their children, with some Arabs it’s about how much money he has, how big of a wedding he can provide. It wasn’t like that with my husband, as long as the guy treated her with respect and was a good Muslim that’s all he wanted for his only daughter. Mashallah I was smiling from the start of the video to the end, you can really see the baraka in this marriage, and subhanallah I have a very similar situation to you guys, and I am definatly inspiried by this story. This beautiful girl that I'm speaking to means so much to me, and I continously make dua for her and her family, I've never met or spoken to a girl like her before, and she just has this aurora of goodwill and kindness and in this video throughout it it reminded me of how much of a character she is, that in itself is making me do the impossible and go the distance, I really hope and inshallah I can one day tell my story like you 2 have and share my amazing experience whether it was up and down to get this woman of my dream, and hopefully have a beautiful connection like you 2 have.
