How do you deal with Rover wanting you to book clients on their platform? - Like if someone messages you on Rover then asks for your number and then becomes a private client and Rover can clearly see that from your messages and send you an email saying "Make sure to book clients on Rover..ect" ( Something along they lines. I've been using Rover for 2 years now and I've been loving it. Also, The Rover Guarantee isn't Insurance, In case you thought it was. If you read the terms and conditions it says you might still need insurance but the Rover Guarantee is just there to help if anything goes wrong. - Do you have Insurance as well for your Private Clients? I'm just wondering because you've definitely been doing it longer than me and take 4x as much dogs as me so, would be good to hear from someone who's been doing it for years 😊
I should probably re-check in on Rover- especially if I could bring my dog to walk them(?)

@@QueenD91Depends on if you do it because you feel you absolutely need it or as side cash. I do it as side cash when I know I’ll be in the house so why not have a little furry friend to snuggle with while being paid or “force” yourself to go for a walk and take in some fresh air? Others do it because they 100% need to. For sure charge more if you need too because Rover takes like 20% in fees 🙄 even as someone who doesn’t need too this annoys me… just keep that in mind in general.

What items do you recommend bringing while on a "job"?
Im looking over your Rover playlist. The titles mention how much you earn, do any of your videos offer advice on do's and don'ts of Rovering? Ive been thinking about dog walking, but my biggest fear is meeting a stray on the street who'd attack me or the dog. How do you keep dogs safe on walks? For the moment, I have the walking option turned off but I'm open for drop ins. I feel more comfortable playing with a dig in its own home or backyard.
Is the winter months a good time to do this?
I think I could use another set of eyes on my profile- I haven't been able to book anything. I'm not sure what it's missing?? I even have a referral from a THS client 😏
I just started with boarding services on Rover and I would like to add dog walking/mid day potty breaks also but how do you do multiple services (especially if you start getting multiple clients for each service) and do all of them in a day if your main focus is boarding. Im worried that boarding clients wont care too much for the fact that Im not home a chunk of the day and their dog would need to be crated. Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thank you for the informative video, very helpful.. Here is my question, that 55$ you charge is it per day 24 hours or is it like 9-5? So 10 days you charge 550? When you dog board where you keep them? You have a spare room or they have your whole house? How much time you actually spend with them? What's your day like when you dog board is it a schedule you follow?
I just started with Rover 3 months ago and would love to have some help with what I should keep for taxes. I assume Rover gives you a 1099? Could you possibly tell me what things I can claim?
How many dogs you board a day and how many drop ins you do in a day in average? If I pet sit in 2 mile radius only beside boarding will I still make money? I wanna do it with my ebike not car..
Just started hope it goes well!

@@starwolfsden6531 It's not though. It is fair when you are building a book of clients but, after having a full book of repeat clients, it is highway robbery. For instance, I have a client traveling for 2.5 weeks. They pay about 1k for the stay. After Rover fees, I will only make about $750 (ballpark). I get nothing from rover in exchange for the fees. They don't cover anything in your home. I have never had to call them for assistance in anyway. If a Rover sitter is smart, they will use the app to build their book, buy pet insurance and then take all of their repeat clients off app. Rover is great for finding clients but they are useless for anything else. 20% is absurd!

I’ve never had any problems with any of the dogs in terms of aggression. You get some dogs that are more powerful (pits, German Shepard’s, bigger dogs) that aren’t always trained well in terms of walking and pull a bit but not aggression. I’ve always been more scared of feisty lil dogs in this life - the big dogs tend to be sweet. Lol Anway, the pulling can be corrected with some techniques if they’re wearing the proper collar (often they are) but sometimes they have flimsy collars where it’s hard to correct the behavior with a small nudge. You get to have a meet and greet with the owners though, so make sure the owner gives you a proper collar and you’ll be fine. All the dogs I’ve taken care of are sweet & not aggressive. There are a lot of rescue pits where I live & they’re so muscular & have a bad rep, but I grew up surrounded by pits and know the only aggressive pit is one that was purposely trained that way by an irresponsible owner. Adopted pits are especially grateful sweethearts, so don’t be scared of big dogs. For me it’s also a means to get out walking. I don’t typically like the gym but can walk forever. So win win. Also, if you’re not 100% comfortable with a dog, then stay on the app and they can help if anything. Some clients do pay outside of the app just because rover has like a 20% fee they take….so if the client is comfortable with you, some of them avoid wasting their money on fees and pay outside of the app the same amount but with it all going to you. I personally don’t mind being paid in or out of the app. The 20% fee is annoying lol but I guess the app is a sort of “insurance”…

Hi I have just started out like two weeks ago and haven't received any new clients yet I don't know if I'm doing something wrong I was thinking I should hand out flyers to dog owners in dog parks for 2 weeks straight.

You may as well have your own business if you'll do that work
BUT MONEY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, RIGHT?
Make sure they don’t die 🫣 hahahaha
Thank you for the informative video, very helpful.. Here is my question, that 55$ you charge is it per day 24 hours or is it like 9-5? So 10 days you charge 550? When you dog board where you keep them? You have a spare room or they have your whole house? How much time you actually spend with them? What's your day like when you dog board is it a schedule you follow?

I can answer this: - That $55 is per day so if someone booked him for..say.. A week. That would be $55 x7, aka $385 at the end of the week. - When dog boarding, the dog is in your whole house. - You spend as much time with the dog as they need, If they need lots of attention , they'll be at you all day but if if you have an easy going dogs they types of dogs will sometimes just sit about or just walk away from you when they decide they'd rather be in another room, as an example. - Boarding day: The owners usually give you their schedule that they keep with the dog. Food times/ walk times/ Medicine times, etc - For me I follow that but I can imagine he would as well because, I don't think it would be right not to follow it, but yeah. That's it! 😊
