How I Make Jars
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I have finally returned with another video! 2019 was a busy year for me and I really missed making videos. This year I want to make time for more videos. My goal is to post a video every month.
If you don't already, follow me on my Instagram for updates on what's coming next. You can also sign up for my newsletter on my website for emailed updates and special promo codes for upcoming sales.
My bat system is made by WonderBat and was purchased on Amazon. I am not sure if they are still being made, but Dirty Girls' bat system is just as good.
Please let me know if you have any pottery video requests!

Watching you start carving in 7:56 was like watching Bob Ross paint a giant tree at the front of his picture, thinking the piece is ruined, but you actually made it even prettier than it was before!
oh man this takes me back to the best part of high school not that i was ever this good but boy do i want to play in some clay
Oh! Waiting until that leathery point makes so much more sense! Now I get what went wrong with a lot of my past pottery projects. I never thought to actually take advantage of that fairly hard stage, I just did it all while fully wet and then the really fine details or getting rid of all tooling marks hasn't really worked well for me in the past while wet, so I'll try to do refining work while hard from now on!

I try to find a good balance between the leatherhard and wet stage. Sometimes too dry can cause cracks as it dries.
So glad to see you again. More! More!
Yay, welcome back! Jar looks great, thanks for sharing your techniques.
Me: I’m watching this seriously as if I’ll really be making jars myself, I don’t even own any of these tools that was used. Interesting video though

Sometimes it's just fun watching someone else make something cool. Who knows, you might try making one someday trying it. There are pottery classes and shops all over the place. Theres one just a few blacks from my house. I went over and bought a few morals mushroom back yards. Because I love to hunt them and like to see them. There about 10 years old and the weather hasn't destroyed them at all. Not like my plastic basement window covers. I'm lucky if it will last 2 to 3 years. The sun breaks down plastic that pretty dam easily. I don't know why put plastic bottles in the garbage dumps. Without our sun getting the chance need to brake down the plastics. It doesn't take so long to break plastic. The problem are were to put it all to let the sun do the job, and keep it away from water.

I could happily watch you work for hours. You move gracefully and it’s so surprising to me that you know exactly what to do to make it turn out the way you want. How lovely!
at about 3:10 you repair the chunk your rib took out by essentially "throwing in reverse". I've save many vessels this way. Sometimes cylinders get a bit wonky and I'll throw a "pull" down from top to bottom. Mostly, I can save them. Might be worth a mention. Thx!

Far from a master, but thank you! :)
I love your exquisite pots, and how you clearly demonstrate each step! Thank you so very much! I watch countless videos, but you’re one of the only ones who has inspired me to take my pottery to the next level!!! Thank you!!!
When you've made something so lovely, I don't know how you have the courage to go back and carve it! One slip of the knife, and it would be ruined! You have such amazing skill and very steady hands! Beautiful!
I'm in western NC, and live in the midst of many potters. I've had lessons with some great potters, and it's hard to throw on a wheel. You'd never know it by watching you work! I love your technique, teaching and finished pieces. Everything is beautiful and unique!
Just incredible. Such a great sense of design too. Thanks for the video!
You're so kind to happily give away your tricks of the trade! Love your ides so much!
Very beautiful. So much fun to watch you working on it.
A beautiful design, well-crafted! Thanks for the video!
Yay! I was taught to flip galleries, and honestly it made me give up on teapots. I love your way, it seems a lot easier and a lot more logical. thank you.
oh goody looking forward to more videos! I'd like to see the rest of the process for finishing and glazing the jars. This video has a good tempo. I really appreciate the focus.
I missed you so happy you're making tutorials again ❤️
Wow! Incredibly clear demonstration & directions! Of course, it will take me quite awhile to reach even a small fraction of your skill, but I feel I understand the process much better than I did before! Thanks,...you're a great teacher!!
Soooo gratifying to watch you work. You make such beautiful jars. I'D LOOOOVE TO GET MY HANDS ON ONE. 🙏🏻😊

This is super cool! Also, have you ever considered carving plant motifs into your pieces to go with the curvy handles? I think that'd look really pretty.

Rey relaxing I haven’t used. Wheel I years and you have great skill
Very informative, and such a unique piece. I think I'm ready to throw some jars.
Love this video - great job with your lidded piece!
Please keep the videos coming! Your work is absolutely stunning and your videos are relaxing
Absolutely LOVE your aesthetic 🥰
I really think your throwing wheel, with the removable center, is so super cool. I don't throw or actually do anything artistic but I find that system you have to be so ingenious and fuss free that if I were ever to get into this craft that would be the only way to go. Great end results too, you are really good at this so I hope the best for you!
Es una obra de arte. Felicidades.
