3 minutes and 2 ingredients -- and I now know how to make my own gummies!! Lanni, you're the best 🤗
This is a great recipe. I have tried it twice. I add an extra 1/4 cup of juice and stir gelatin throughly when it’s on the heat.Next time, I’ll try 1/8 tsp of vitamin c powder.

Great idea! I’ve been experimenting with using different infusions myself. Whole food vitamin C powder has worked well for me.

I love your simple instructions. I plan to make a large batch of Elderberry juice with herbs & 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 1/2piece of fresh ginger & 1 slice of fresh tumeric, some lemon juice & as it cools I'll add some raw honey to taste. Then I'll make some gummies, I have the larger gummy molds & fir the grown ups I have the jumbo gummy bears that hold 4 tsp. I'm so excited I have everything ready to go for in the motning. 🙆♀️ I have organic pomegranate juice mixed with apple juice with the mother (I also have some concentrated concord grape juice that I need to use up (I bought 2 & I didn't realize how concentrated they are, so I think theyll be a great combination with the Elderberry juice & I'll add comfrey & maybe slippery elm herb with lemon juice & sweeten with Raw honey towards the end as it's cooled a bit. I'll can whst I don't make into gummies 🤭🙆♀️❣ I feel like a young girl again. I use Zen Principle grass fed & grass finished pasture raised, bovine gelatin. I get the 3 lb container, I will buy one more 3lb container so I'll have it for a long while. These will be my new candy & medicines, for when I'm feeling not quite right & need an energy boost. 🤗🥰🙆♀️ Thank you again❣

Whoa, coconut cream!? That sounds delicious! I’ve gotta try this. Thank you for sharing.
Thankyou, the details are perfect, but to make a gummy bear like one you'd buy in a shop you'd need at least double the amount of powdered gelatin.
@jillbertphones783
Жыл бұрын
I tried the recipe and yeah, it came out just as jelly - not strong enough to demold without tearing. Definitely not gummy. Strange, as it's a very common ratio of gelatin to juice that I've seen. I will try doubling the amount of gelatin to see what effect that has.
@preservingtoday
Жыл бұрын
Hopefully doubling the gelatin will help. Make sure you’re not over boiling the gelatin, because that will break it and it won’t set up.

@@preservingtoday Thanks! I did some more with more gelatin and they worked perfectly. Definitely keeping the temps low to not break down the gelatin. Thanks again.

I was curious have you tried pureeing the peaches to a liquid I wondered if it would work as well with a puree just then you would not lose the fiber. Thank you for the video have a great day☺

I haven’t tried that but I bet it would be good. It may change the texture and appearance a bit though.
Hi. I’m wondering how long of a shelf life these gummies have? Not being refrigerated. Thanks ❤

Not sure. I usually keep mine in the fridge. Should be a long time I would think.

Have you tried coating them in carnubawax/canolaoil or Citricacid/sugar to preserve their life? Curious how well it works
@preservingtoday
5 ай бұрын
I have not tried that, cool idea. I don’t use canola oil, citric acid or much sugar at home so it hadn’t crossed my mind. I’ve never made enough that they would last very long because my kids love them so much! I figure they would be fine room temp as long as your house isn’t too hot. There is nothing in them that would spoil or allow bad bacteria to grow (they are too acidic if made with fruit juice). I’m going to make some soon and I will set some aside for an experiment on shelf life. I’ll report back with my findings here. Thanks for your interest and cool ideas. :)
Can I add infused MCT oil? Do I need lecithin?
@preservingtoday
10 ай бұрын
I bet you could get away with adding some oil to a point, too much and things won’t set up. You’d have to experiment, but that would be really cool if you pull it off! I don’t know anything about lecithin and I’ve never used it.
How do you keep the mixture from getting foamy?
@preservingtoday
11 ай бұрын
Try not to heat it too fast or hard. You can skim foam off too. I don’t mind it though and just enjoy the cute bubbles on the gummies.
hi, so if it’s two cups of juice, am I putting 6 tablespoons of gelatin?
@preservingtoday
7 ай бұрын
Yes, 3 tablespoons of gelatin for EACH cup of juice. So 6T for 2c. That’s what I would do. I hope they turn out great!
How long this healthy gummy bear will still fresh at room temperature? 6 month? No need preservative?
@preservingtoday
2 ай бұрын
I’m not certain at room temperature, because I always keep mine in the fridge. If your home is very hot, it could affect the texture of the gummy. If your house is a moderate temperature the gummies should stay fresh for several weeks at least.
How long do you keep it on med/high heat? Also how long did you keep your gummies in the fridge for?
@preservingtoday
27 күн бұрын
Don’t let it boil, but let all the gelatin dissolve until it’s all liquid. So just a few minutes.
@preservingtoday

Not very long. This was an hour tops. You can also put them in the freezer to speed it up a bit.
what about if im gonna add probiotics, wouldn't be better to add it after the mixture cools down?
@preservingtoday
9 ай бұрын
Oh, great idea! Yes, probiotics are heat sensitive. Don’t add them until the mixture is under 120F. So you can add them when it’s still warm, but not hot or simmering. I hope this helps!

@@preservingtoday I tried it and it turned out like Jell-o opps, things that I think was made wrong: 1- I made 4-5 flavors 2-when I added the gelatin to the mixture before coking it, it seemed that it didn’t devolve like yours. 3-The flavor profile was not tasting good. I tried mango, raspberry, cherry (frozen) I tried orange, watermelon, and mixed berries w/ homemade kombucha from the hotel. Non of them were tasty. I need to focus on one flavor and I need to get the consistency right I used beef gelatin
just add thc coconut oil

Totally room for many kinds of add in’s, but I’m curious how it would affect the texture if you’re adding fat… have you tried this?
Are these soft, or hard gummies? My granddaughter doesn’t like the hard gummies.

Soft and chewy. At the very end of the video I squish one in my fingers. That might help you see the texture better.
and Im still confused I have 2 pints of liquid I want to geletin I have the powdered one 240 bloom but how much geletin powder needs putting into the liquid I bought this bag of beef geletin 2yrs ago and still too scared to use it cos I dont have a clue
@preservingtoday
28 күн бұрын
1 pint is equal to 2 cups, so if you have 2 pints that is 4 cups of liquid. Use 3 tablespoons of gelatin PER cup of liquid. So for 2 pints you will use 12 tablespoons of gelatin. Easy! You can do it!
what type of gelatin?
