I think people really want to meet the artist. When I’m doing a 1-day pop-up, l make sure to identify myself when people are looking at my work. It seems to really help sales!

100%. It’s not all about the finished product - it’s about who made it when looking for handmade pieces.

That part of engaging the customer can really be the difference between a sale or no sale.

I started out doing markets and still do a couple per year. Choosing the right market is key! I do art markets where people are there to see and buy art. These are usually juried and harder to get into but much more profitable. I find I do much better at those than craft fairs or locally organized fundraiser type things.

Such a great video!! I’ve finally saved up enough to buy myself a wheel and will have enough soon to hopefully get a little kiln too, and markets are high on my priority list when I’m able to start making again. Will be keeping so much of this in mind!

OMG, thank you for this video! It's very helpfull!)) Next time I'll got to market I use your advices for sure. I especially like advice about price tags on the bottom of the pieces, that will cause people to touch your pieces before they found out what the price is. And you are soo charming! Please make more videos)

Hi ! Super helpful video 🙏 At first i was using boxes as well, but I found out that luggage was soooo easy ! I have this big luggage that can hold a whole 1 or 2 days market. And it rolls 😇 this is usually the way I tell myself I have enough pieces with me 😂

Another hint is to have a bag the customer takes the item with them that is so cool or unusual that people will stop them and say hey what is in there? I used to make animal jewelry and my bags had air holes I hole-punched into them. Remember also that the bag they take away can be advertising for you.

Good job. I say hello to people and tell them my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe, and to feel free to pick the pieces up. I then let them shop. Tend to sell more this way.

Im just curious about the 60 pounds table cost. Is that the total table cost, or half that was split with your friend?
