I've always sort of head canoned that in the world of the RWS, Thomas really stopped doing any serious work after he became Sodors poster boy- which is why he's always looking so clean. So a more industrial take is appreciated because it feels like a more realistic (and sane) approach for a working railway, which allegedly the NWR is.

NGL. The deeper blue makes Thomas look far less toy-like and more like a serious sort of train. I Like it.

This is truly the moment we have been waiting for, this model is incredible. The body looks super good as well, not too much detail, but not too simple. It's just great.

2 things 1. That intro was amazing 2. That Thomas looks like what he looked like on the cover of the Adventures of Thomas movie. (I hope i got that name right)

Genuinely this is my favorite TB custom period.

One of the best realistic takes of thomas I really like the design and color blue its wearing without the face it feels like a real working engine

I like that there’s some weathering/wear and tear on the buffers. That’s something that’s visible on a lot of real preserved locos and rolling stock, but very rarely gets put on models.

I personally like the design, the look is both very realistic and faithful to the tv series.

I love the look of this Thomas, your idea of making him looked used, but not so put upon like Percy or James is a nice look. Perhaps this Thomas never got his branchline, and instead pilots and runs trains to other parts of the island, would make for some fun interactions with other characters.

I quite like this version of Thomas. A very industrial look and I like the use of the lamps and how he is short in length but still has the correct running board for an E2.

I was never really into Thomas the Tank Engine. But I really love your alternative take on this character. It looks like something I would see on a real-life railroad. It really gives him that industrial mature vibe.

Honestly, this is outstanding and really gives that picture of a working E2 but you know its still Thomas. I would love to see how you'll directly approach An Adventures of Thomas The Tank Engine model, even tho it might just be an E2 model with Thomas' detailing but I will like to see how you'll make it, and maybe improve some parts of the model the leaks showed us even tho it's cancelled.

That small one is very BR styled, I like it! You could also say he's wearing some form of BR blue

Maybe using little bits of body putty, you could make it look like workers welded his running board. I haven't used body putty myself, but it's just a thought. It's a great model none the less.

why not hand paint the coal bunker? like that one time you brush paint splatter but with spray paint liquid

I would LOVE to make a Spencer and was thinking about it just last night!! 😅 I’ve put some thought into it and he for sure is someone I’d like to see on the layout but that’s also what halts me a little? I run a very sharp radius and worry I’d mess him up on it haha (BUT if Molly can do it I’m sure he’d have no real issue at a slower speed)

Comparing that render from The Adventures of Thomas, it would be truely identical if he weren’t a Newcastle Shunter.

what I want to see is someone make a model of Thomas but if he were adapted to be used in America and I’m not talking about the Strasburg Thomas I’m talking e2 Thomas where he has an American headlight on top of his Smokebox, a bell, and buffers are removed with a footboard in their place just an idea but the model in the video is pretty damn cool

Has nobody noticed the back end of Thomas running board and buffer beam is sloped like the e2s

Typically I go the 3D printed route with the help of my friend TrainStorm since he operates with a resin one; BUT alternatively and a bit cheaper is older stock Wooden Railway toys! They’re a perfect fit for Thomas and Percy :)

Why not name your layout "Forgotten Loke" or however it's spelled. Maybe it could have been an old branchline and your models are engines coming to help restore it
