To the listeners: All these tips are great, but don't beat yourself up if you don't want to do any of these items because they seem overwhelming. Not every birth is the same, and some things are going to happen, no matter what you do. My last labour was a breeze, and I did nothing to "help". I will reiterated, not all births are the same. My first birth I did nothing either, and that birth was tougher. Do the best you can, and take the rest and God has planned it ♡

Yes, I agree. I followed all the tips I could find and did everything right, but both of my babies where badly positioned and my labours have both been very long and hard. For my first, I ended up with a C-section and PTSD, for my second I tore pretty badly. I think it is a bit misleading to say that doing something prevents complications. I think that some women have it easier than others and most of the time you can't control much.

Totally agree! My labor was just like my mom's first labor with me - very long. After two days of very active labor, I got an epidural. I knew going into it I would probably want one - I don't take pain well and I wanted to be mentally present for the delivery and not traumatized by the pain. Epidural finally helped me relax and they broke my water. Like anything in life, have a plan, but also expect something won't go according to plan. I almost had an emergency c section but the nurses were able to reach in and fix the cord clamp and I delivered vaginally.

@@katrinagross1637I can agree with this. Pregnancy and birth is a wild time because you don’t know how it’ll go for you until you do it. And even then, the next will be different. I’m pregnant with my 3rd and I was expecting this to be my hardest pregnancy since my first 2 were difficult, and I haven’t had much of a break at all, but it’s been my easiest so far.

I second the red raspberry leaf and dates. I need to go very easy with the RRL tea as I have extremely fast active labours now! I haven’t done anything to help with tearing with all 7 of my babies and I only had a graze with my first, and nothing for the rest. Posture is so important - something I’m terrible at and am focusing on that more now (not pregnant right now). Can’t agree more about the scripture and worship music. I had a playlist for my last couple births and they were so helpful! Wouldn’t go without it. I’m used them during pregnancy to align my thoughts and breath. Can’t wait to hear the good news!!

I like the channel and have followed it on and of for several year and I expected my two kids as the same time as Theo and Will. But I really don't think it is good to talk about tearing as something that happens depending on what the mother does or does not do. As someone who has had super fast deliveries with no chance for the tissue down there to be able to prepare for a baby coming out I am quite certain that there would have been nothing I could have done to prevent my tearing. I got the best help by the midwives but there was no chance of slowing it down - sometimes things just happen. Of course anyone can do what they feel like with their body and try things out. I just want to remind everyone that there is no prestige in tearing or not - and if it happends it is not your fault! 💗I really hope you will have a great and safe delivery in all ways possible Delilah!

I appreciate your comment. This was my thought entering this video. I did alllll the things in this video and more. My labour was fast and my midwife did her best with supporting the tissue and applying warm cloths. And I didnt give birth on my back either. Nothing really helped. I guess that's how my body works, and I'm okay with it now. But I was absolutely devastated the first few months postpartum with feelings that I failed and that my body has flailed me.

Just one tip for labour: breathe. Don't hold your breath during contractions, but breathe deep into your belly and exhale slowly. This will help to endure even the most painful contractions. I swear! And for postpartum: prepare more for postpartum than for birth. Prepare meals. Ask other people in advance if they are willing to come over and hold baby while you rest/shower/etc. Get as much help as you can and don't feel bad about it.

Future Mum's please do not beat yourself up if you do all these things and the birth still does not go smoothly. I prepared ssooooo much for both of my births. I did everything she is doing plus yoga every day. My first was 3 days of labour and 2 hours of pushing with no drugs and then an emergency C-section. For my 2nd I was given the green light for a VBAC did all these things again (minus the yoga as Mum's do not have time for that) then once I was in labour the doctor felt it was too unsafe to continue so I got another C-section. I had to grieve for my births but I trust God and he has healed me.

I agree with you. I was hoping for a v birth. We saw at all our scans that our baby was bigger gestationally and thought he may come sooner. In our country, there was a typhoon storm preventing that I could safely go for my 35 - or 36-week check-up. I felt God lead me to have peace about however our son would be born. At 37w and 3 days, we were told our baby is back in a breech position and too big to deliver safely, we need to have a C-section at 38 weeks and 2 days. I told our doctor I would appreciate just a bit more time, please. Well... my body knew otherwise... my water broke the day after the doctor told me about the C-section... so I went in for an emergency C-section. Due to strict hospital policies, my Husband was not allowed in with me, and I didn't get to be with our son for the first 14 hours. I have often felt a form of grief about my birthing story, and I acknowledge how it went even though I feel sad about it now and then. But I am thankful God gave me peace that I didn't understand, well before our son was born.

I always wondered why mothers are so obsessed with tearing or ripping, no matter what you do - you can not prevent or change it as you’re pushing out a baby and you can not control the aftermath of how the baby comes out. It’s totally ok to tear mommies, this is coming from someone who works in the healthcare field and also have three babies of my own.

Actually you can control tearing in the moment of the baby coming out... My midwife directed my pushing by saying when to slow down or stop when she saw the baby coming out too quickly. I didn't tear at all. She also had me doing perineal massage beforehand to help prepare my baby for stretching. I credit my lack of tearing to her guidance

Tearing and ripping can be hard to recover from postpartum, it's not a pleasant experience... Maybe that's why us silly moms are so obsessed with avoiding it? 😅

Not everyone has a midwife who can direct you during labor. I wasn't able to have one (insurance didn't cover it) but I had amazing doctors and still tore both times, needing stitches. There wasn't anything I could do beforehand to prepare, it sounds nice to think you can control it, but videos and advice like this are misleading.

@@lantana4840 Once again, not everyone has that luxury and the obsession of ripping and tearing is the least of your worries. Your body will do it’s job. So like I’ve stated prior, YOU as the mother can not control or alter how your body reacts to vaginal birthing. So kudos for you to have someone guide you, this is not the case for most women.

@@CorrinaRoseWrites I agree, never said I had a midwife or doula to guide me. Also did not have the luxury as my insurance did not cover it but I still tear with all three pregnancies and it’s just something that happens during birth. I am not obsessed with the thought of ripping when there are women dying during birth, I’d rather have a healthy baby and worry about a tear later on. Life goes on.

The majority of East Asian women have bad tearing. It’s genetic and there’s nothing you can do to really help with that. All these non-tearing tips are for those who already wouldn’t really have tearing. It’s like stretch marks - predominantly genetic. Love your content and have been a long follower. Just wanted to put this here for other torn moms - it’s not anything you didn’t do - there’s nothing you can do anyways.

I hope my question won't sound judgmental, because it is really not my intention, but why is she talking so much about religion and linking everything in her life to it? I'm not familiar with religion in Canada, so I'm wondering what this is about. She seems to explain everything with religion instead of thinking on her own and having her own opinions. Isn't it a bit dangerous to loose that much of her free will ? It sounds very similar to a cult :( Whatever this is about, I hope you're safe and ok Delilah. And of course, that baby number 4 will be safe ❤

In faith you give yourself fully to God and his will- most religions see things this way, whatever God(s) they worship. “Letting go and letting God” is a freeing experience and truly brings peace and confidence in the moment. It may not be for everyone, but for those who it does work for it is beautiful and healing and not at all cult like.

If God exists, which I firmly believe He does, that affects everything about reality. He designed it, after all. And there is plenty of good reason to believe in the God of the Bible, just listen to apologists such as Frank Turek, William Lane Craig, or Nabeel Qureshi (there are many, but those are just a few I can think of).

Delilah, I like your content a lot but if I’m being honest, your showing of your belly is a bit inappropriate, your a woman of GOD and it’s important that we walk in modesty… We get it that your pregnant and your in your house but, that is something intimate and private and should be for your family to see and not for the camera’s… The stand to show your thigh gap? We as women of GOD have to be mindful of what we post, say and do and be mindful of are why we do the things we do… GOD see’s are hearts behind everything we do… I just wanted to share that…

@@iseriss it’s not about nakedness, it’s about the appropriate nature of how she represents herself in how she shows her body… Again I stated I like her, I watch her and will continue too… It has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with the HEART! Yes we were created naked, but once Eve sinned we lost that privilege to go about in nakedness, despite culture today saying otherwise… It’s important that we are mindful of how we dress or what we are showing… Its intimate in the since that’s something she could be displaying in her home with her husband and children without the world seeing it… This is know doubt a very special time and not everything is for the camera, we have to get back to being private with are lives and not share everything and every monumental moment… I pray you can receive this in love, be blessed!
