How I Lived 100% Off-Grid For 8 Months Straight (Unlimited Freedom!)
Спорт
This is a simple video breakdown of how I've lived off-grid non-stop for the past eight months. Along with some inspiration & motivation to help get out there and doing this for yourself.
This lifestyle of true freedom was not easy to achieve. And took me several years to get right. And I'm still improving upon it. Because the rewards and befits are worth every it!
This true freedom I get to experience, from all the congestion of society. Freedom away and from any government if I chose. Freedom from the power grid. And freedom away from anyone else whenever I want! It's an amazing, and at times, very scary feeling!

Hello & welcome! I'm Daniel aka "Adventureman Dan." I've been living on the edge, from one adventure to another for the past nine years. Stating in Central California with my first GoPro, through SoCal, Baja, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Alaska and throughout the whole USA. But for the past five years on my sailboat "Adventureborne" I'm open to unlimited possibilities of where I can go, and what I can do!

My biggest question that no one seems to answer in full detail is when I make this lifestyle change, what is it like for people that don't want to sell their guns and keep them aboard the boat? I have 7 rifles and a handgun. What is it like to try to stay in the Caribbean with these items? I don't wish harm on anyone, and these items are probably the only things I refuse to part with. Are those Caribbean countries okay with me having them in a safe and locked away? Or is there a certain number of firearms I will be safe having? I know the laws hold for the flag and registration of the boat and if my vessel represents the U.S. that I'm from than is it okay to have these items without getting too much pressure from said country? Please hold you bias opinions to yourself and give a straight answer. I do realize there are more than a few out there that have firearms and probably won't answer because then they will give themselves away. It's tricky to get a straight answer for this subject from seasoned sailors with channels.
Dude - this is *THE ONLY* video on sailing yachts that I have encountered that *ACTUALLY* explained 95% of my skeptical questions.! Thank you very much - subbed!

Im proud of you and everyone that lives this kind of life. It's my dream. Life hasn't been exactly in my favor yet, but I do plan on making it happen. Hopefully when I'm ready to buy a boat I can find someone to live on board with me for awhile to show me the ropes and teach me.

This is something I want to do with my partner. Flying and sailing are things that always stood out to me, but cost and my partner agreeing have been the hurdle. Also, if you're handy with electrical appliances, you could make a dehumidifier for the cabin that would collect water from the atmosphere at the same time. The compressor, condenser, and evaporator are pretty easily harvested from cheap old beer fridges or mini fridges.

Excellent overview. Thank you. Be safe and enjoy every minute.
Great video and information Dan! I've proven to myself that I can not only live on a 10ft jon boat, but live happily and with a budget of less than $50 a month. Less than that really, especially if I fish more. Since proving to myself that I can live with so little and be happy in such a small boat, I know that when I get a sailboat I will be even happier. As long as she is solid, floats and sails, it'll be a dream come true. The rest of features I consider luxuries that I will gladly improve over time.

I've been binge watching your channel. I love your content and editing style! Your content is fairly different from other sailing channels, i love the photography and spear fishing. Your story is so unique as well, your boat is (from what i've seen at least) something that most people would NOT consider buying for full time cruising. You've given so much great stuff on how you've improved it. I think it kind of proves that as long as the hull is solid, put enough work in and you can cruise in any boat small or big. Keep the videos coming!

Hey thanks soo much. I love to hear that. Yes Adventureborne is a great cruising boat now for sure. 😀
I am trying to invent a reverse propellor generator DIY install.... i dont know what im doing. I just know what i want. This could provide 220 for laundry machine. so you could do your laundry with dishwasher as you sail. There are already small dishwashers that run 110 and small washers. you can install a dryer upside. You could put a large generator on you motor with its own clutch to run 220.00. people dont utilize the tech right in front of us. you need more sour krout. if your getting alot of protein. you need to clean your system with that k... something. you gotta eat vegies just to clean out the proteins once in a while or your arteries clog. just learned that today. i have been watching a bunch of sailing videos. non of you can yourselves. glass is not all gunna break and you could store them in a better state as they are all the same size. maybe we start a new canning diy and build a machine to do it ourselves for metal cans. dont be afraid of canned chicken or spam! I would still grow plants off the side of the boat. like tomatoes using fresh water run off when it rains and a timed sprinkler system. I would find ways to collect the rain water. Like 3 upside down umbrellas ??? that went to a different tank. another invention. put in 2 shop vacs and have an ice making machine. you can freeze salt water ice for one of the shop vacs, put it in reverse and have AC for the boat. still boil the salt water. clean the ice maker! have ice!!!! nobody has ace machines on thier boat. aloce centralized vac??? HELLO!!! you can use a small dishwasher to store your dishes.

Man, that was helpful. I have planned this for years but can't till my senior rescue dog has her promises kept. Yes, going simple and small. I'll cruise my boat in the Florida Key. She has a 4 inch draft with leeboards with one sail and no motor. Two nine foot oars and not being in a hurry. I have had five years aboard at a lake marina while working a full time job and several small cruises. I love saltwater cruising. It a complete life full of wonder and danger. So alive when one with shallow water sailing.

Out of all the sailing videos, what I like the best about your videos is your humility and showing newbies how it can be done. Starting simple small and doing it to start off with is great advice, then build up. Have you looked into alternative fuels like hydrogen to run the motor?
@handroids1981
Жыл бұрын
Hello. I'm not Dan, perhaps he will answer. Unfortunately hydrogen is ... some far way off being an option. Very, very far off. That I know of it's been a "just around the corner" possibility since the 90s. All sailing vessels are eagerly waiting for the lithium replacement. As lithium is STUPID HEAVY. Generally an electric cars weight is about those thirds its batteries. Weight is the enemy of all sail craft. I hope that helps.
