How I Learned to Love the Bubble - EVE Online Corvette to Cynabal Bootstrap Challenge - Ep. 40
Ойындар
It's been a little while since Bill Dingha Cynabal was on the good side of a killmail. It's time to correct that.

That pod in the ending. That guy paid the lifetime platinum membership fee of the Cynabal boys fan club :D
Literally yelled out loud "OMFG" when I saw the loot.
Well if he wasn't before, Serg is definitely your #1 fan now! Nice episode!
Have to say, time lapsing a gate like that is quite beautiful. Like a slow green flame calmly burning in dark of night. Think I'm gonna go record some time laps of me slowly orbiting gates for a screen saver or something.
He said "Where are you going, coward?!" =)

lol that intro. As a wormholer I'll say you died within jump range of the hole. If you jumped in and the flycatcher followed you you could just jump out again and he would be polarized and you could have warped off. Respect the blaster probe though :)

Haha. I completely forgot that wormholes don't care about weapon timers until I read this comment.
YES! LET'S GOOOOOOOOO! I dropped a Alpha Alt into Great Wildlands, it's like WHs, but with local. so stoked you got T2 stuff.
OMG. I looked up your killmail on Serge. He was asking for it. He had a festival launcher , snowballs, and fireworks in the high slots....along with an Interdiction Nullifier.
I'd love to hear you reading The Iliad. During a camp or while mining or huffing gas. It makes it even more exciting to stop for mining updates or gate activity.
Nice kills... and friendly banter from the guy who donated the pod.
that part of syndicate is a fun time, takes me back to the old days of yore. thanks dude, keep making cool content
EVE, Homer and chill? im IN. make it happen
THE POD! This series continues to deliver, thank you!
those guys will think twice before messing with an angel again
that episode drained all my precious bodily fluids
Amazing episode, so fun seeing bill get a kill
it would have lived if it was a shield super
some big mistakes you done here. first off, you want bubble at 100km from the gate, because as it currently are, they can just drive out of the bubble and warp directly to the gate trough your bubble. you also want a web on your ship to slow people down. 3th mistake, dont sit in the bubble as you dont know what land on you. stay at a perch atleast 300-400 km away from the decloack spot aligned to the bubble, and watch your dscan as someone are inncoming. if you see its something you can take, warp inn and land there before them, and if it something you cant take, just let em land and you be safe from them.

good input there.

Thanks for the well laid out advice. A couple of explanations of my thought process though. First off, I would indeed love to have a web, but it's hard to fit a web, scram, and prop on a Catalyst and my ship choice is limited by my BPOs. Secondly, while waiting aligned at a perch is definitely SAFER for bubble camping generally, it WILL result in you missing some chances, especially on covert ops ships, which are probably the number one thing I am most hoping to catch. If a covops is suddenly decloaked by one of my cans, I want to be RIGHT THERE, not 300km away.
One of the best episodes yet! Especially the translation of Serg. That was priceless! Would love to know what that person was actually saying, lol.
When you've done abit of Pvp a better decloaking method than carbon is corpses. You can drop as many corpses as you like at once and they will spread out. Making a carbon-like decloaking array instantly.
Nice kills
Your bubble is too far from the gate, that's why he could warp. You need to be less than 150 from the gate. 100 is ideal as they have to burn backwards to warp
I would like to have Homer's Illiad read to me.
Is can spam allowed these days? When I started back in '05 It used to be a known tactic to anchor and drop cans around gates in large numbers. CCP however declared this as an exploit as it was being used to lag the client?

I'm happy to be corrected on this, but my understanding was that it was specifically the intentionally lagging the client part that was considered an exploit and that it mostly referred to grids with hundreds of anchored structures, particularly bubbles, with their graphical overhead. 5 to 20 jetcans are not lagging anyone's client and I'm reasonably sure it's still valid for decloaking purposes.
Y'all say mining is boring, but bubble camping looks so much worse...
I got it wrong then, because unless I have tangible, contextual reasons that outweigh other considerations, I just wouldn't attack :p The combat or idea of a kill (or death) doesn't do anything for me in and of itself. I know why (compulsive) EVE PvP'ers do what they do, because I've gone with them and know how excited they get. I just don't. Spending a couple hours camping isn't objectively more fun than mining for example, unless you're an adrenaline junkie that get to salivate at the thought of your next hit. PS: Slava Ukraini! :D

For him, it's a way to get t2 modules, because he can't use the player market for this challenge.

@@QualeQualeson Fair enough, I've certainly done my fair share of roaming and killing too, the point I was making, is I don't think he'd spend over an hour gate camping if he was only looking for pvp. This particular brand of pvp is mostly to get the t2 modules.

@@Jeff55369 It's also channel content, which BTW is excellent. I dig it when he does these tutorial style things.
30 minutes of campsite snooze-fest waiting for a clueless alpha miner to stumble into your trap? Not exactly the adrenaline rush most PvPers crave. The game should have a ranked pvp system so you can have fun with that playstyle
From my understanding littering like that is discouraged practice from CCP.
I had to read the Iliad for a class in college. Maybe the translation was lame, but good grief it was boring. I love reading and good stories, but the Iliad just didn't hit for me.

I had to translate and study tracts of the Iliad, Odyssey and Virgil’s Aeneid for my classics degree, I too prefer the Odyssey over Iliad, but the Aeneid over both of Homers works.
