How I laid a BRICK PATIO ...never done it before
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
So make it clear - this is NOT an instruction how to lay brick patio and if you wanna do it for the first time, only using this clip as your guide, you must be more crazy than me :)
If someone want to know, I've used about 130 blocks, 5 bags of sub base, 8 bags of sand and one dog - he was the supervisor for the entire project.

Absolutely LOVE your "supervisor"!❤ Inspiring to watch (now I will try) and heartwarming.
Awesome!!! I like how you bag the dirt as you go instead of leaving a big pile. Inspirational. Thank you
Looks great. Dog was thinkin “Now what’s he doin”
Wow! So fun to watch - the doggie watching was the best! Great job, inspires me to tackle my own backyard walkway. Thank You for sharing! A++
HaHa, Great video, loved the way the dog just stood and watched. Looked like hard yakka, Well done.
Great work! I’m thinking myself to do something similar on Friday so I found your video clip so aspiring. The only promising that my area will be 3 times as yours and I have sloped surface .

Excellent. Pooch added a bit of ...cuteness. :)
Great job bro! I’m doing the same thing right now and needed to watch your video!
This was perfect! I came her for ideas to do my backyard. You’ve done an amazing job! Mine won’t be that perfect but I promise it won’t be the worst.
I have bichon frise and she is just so loyal and loveable 🥰 nice work 👏 👌 I need to make a small brick landing in my garden bed for a bench and this was the video I needed. Ty

A lot of work but a great video. Couldn’t help loving on the pooch.
Call me crazy because although u did no talking(which I liked) this is the diy I have chosen to make my patio, after spending hours checking out other videos. Just bought a new house and trying to save money by diying my little back yard patio. Thank u very much

Sorry, but your puppy stole your thunder here....lol !! He never left your side. What a good dog. Btw , great effort and turn out .
Happy dog! How many hours did it take.. how much did it cost? Thanks
Nice!!
Do you need special bricks for this? And how do they stay stuck in the ground without cement?
Great work! I'm going to pave one later. Just wonder it is better to use the compactor for the ground before laying the bricks. May I have your opinion? Thank you!
@maxiikazz
4 жыл бұрын
Definitely use compactor if you can. I didn't have an access to any of them so I end up jumping on everything ;-) Also compactor is good for shaking bricks to get the sand between gaps.

How many days did that take or hours if you have that info.? Thanks size of your patio?
Do you have to add the rocks and sand?
That’s one loyal pooch
Also how thick of layer did you put the Paver base and then the sand?
@maxiikazz
4 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I don't remember exactly. I think it was about 3 inches sub base and 2 inches sand. If you want to calculate it, try to look for 'patio sand calculator' on google.
WHATS THAT BRICK CUTTER YOU USE? PLEASE REPLY
The dog was clearly SUPERVISING lol
No cement at all? Are you sure it will hold shape and not shift over time and weather?
how's it holding up???
How far down into your lawn did you dig? Would you recommend using the edgers?
@maxiikazz
4 жыл бұрын
About 20-25cm (9-10 inches) but that area was for a light use only. If you want to build something more robust, to last longer and can handle more weight, I'd say use edgers and go a bit deeper.
It looks great! May i know the measurement?
@maxiikazz
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's 50 x 75 inches (about 1.25m x 1.9m)
amazing :) how long did it take to finish ? i think for ages... i want to do same thing but i m not brave like you
@maxiikazz

Thank you ;-) About four hours. The longest and most boring part was digging and leveling. Get someone to help you and do it, satisfaction is great :)

@@maxiikazz How far down do you have to dig? I assume based on the thickness of the brick you purchase?
@djtax73uk93

Wheeler Law Firm, LTD. depends what’s it for,anything heavy 150mm,100mm for sub base
How big of an area is this? we are looking to do an 8x8 and was curious to how much leveling sand we need. Also What is the type of rock that goes down first? Thanks in advance!
@maxiikazz
4 жыл бұрын
It was 50 x 75 inches. I'vee used 8 bags of sand and 5 bags of sub base (rocks) from B&Q uk.
It's easy as 1, 2... 457!
I pretty much understood everything except,,, what did you take that made you move so Fast 💨? That would help me a Great 👍 deal !

To be honest, hard to say. I was lucky to get the used patio bricks for free, all the rest was about £80 for my project. Have a look online for a patio calculator, good luck👍
so at 8:57 of your video something crawls out of the grass and under the umbrella stand? just curious. oh and great job love the dog.

Hahaha you're right, just to confirm - no wiggly worms were harmed during making this video. Thanks :)
At 8:35 what is the name of that tool you're using to split the bricks? At 9:25 what is he spreading over the bricks? What is the purpose of that?
@m.night_schlongislong

He's spreading sand over the bricks as filler for the joints.
What tools did you use to cut the bricks?

Brick chisel. Deadly device that :)
Got to appreciate a dude that builds a patio with a steak knife! Nice work. PS. Your neighbor’s yard looks like sh*t. Lol.

Oh should I buy new brick or buy recycled ones.?
Why use the white rocks before the sand?
@maxiikazz
4 жыл бұрын
It's sub-base for drainage
What’s the purpose of the rocks?

To create stable, even surface and support the drainage.

Why did you lay dirt on the bricks at the end..

It's a sand, part of the process. It needs to get in the gaps between the blocks to secure them.
