How I installed my Knight Rider LED scanner on KITT, my Tesla Model 3

Here's how you can remove the frunk and install an LED scanner or any other 12V lighting or accessories without touching the car's wiring.
Also I think I found out my car has wiring for the pedestrian warning speaker.

WOW Dude that is cool, I'm an 80's kid and knight rider had a very big impact on my life back then. I cant believe there is a kit to make KITT so easy. Thanks for the video much appreciated. I'm ordering this right now and adding it to my list of cheap but very cheerful mods to my car. I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this light. Even the red and blue lol 👍👍👍

I notice the cable included is 2 male to 1 female. I’m assuming you spliced the switch and the lights both to the one female, the. One male is used to supply the power and the other male isn’t used at all??

I know it's "against the law" but any moron civilian or cop that were to see a red "KITT" strobe light on a car, especially a '80's Firedbird or Trans-Am, and thinks it's a police car needs to have their reality checked.

Yeah, the rule seems overarching. Obviously a scanner light in the middle of the nose is not a police car/fire truck light.

@@CyberOwners Not to mention brake lights are red for crying out loud. As long as the light is oscillating and not flashing, I really don't see the danger, especially that low on the car.

Hello, was wondering if the LED light simply plugs into the battery pack out of the box? Also how has it held up since making the video? Thanks in advance!

Held up great. The battery pack has a normal wire that I cut and spliced onto the wires I ran from the lights.

Thank you for the video! Question, did you have to buy extra wires to extend the lights' wires to the battery pack? I love that you didn't really touch the car at all.

So I assume he connected the 2 wires coming from the led to inside the car and sliced them and also sliced the cable that connects to the battery pack? connected it to the battery pack cable where the plug is connected to the pack itself! please confirm! thanks

I wonder if it is possible to make the front body part semi opaque and stick the lights behind that.

You could put many tiny holes in a grid and it would look solid but light would shine through.

Hi. Quick question: before I purchase both items, how do you connect the wiring of the LED light to the external battery? Is the end of the wiring an actual plug to the battery or did you have to make some modifications?

@@CyberOwners Can I get a more detailed explanation on how to split and connect the wires? I’m not very electro savvy. Would I need to use a soldering gun? If you could send me a photo of how you connected them, I’d be eternally grateful.

Do you have a pic by any chance? I don't see any small opening even to push the cable from the front to the inside. Did you had to remove any more things other then frunk? I am asking from other lip to frunk area...not from frunk to inside the car for 12v. TIA

  • @CyberOwners

No, I didn't mess with anything that would affect warranty. In fact by using a separate battery pack I made sure it couldn't hurt the car 12v battery at all.
