I’ve put in the work to start my own side business this year (Only got to Name search & registering my Business name & number then Covid-19 hit) but I guess you can say I’m putting in my R&D. But I don’t feel guilty because I’ve thought up the idea on my own and when google searching it, there is only one other person in the business. So I’m going to be their first competitor.

How much money do you want in the bank when you hit 30?/What properties do you want before you hit 30? 3. What kind of relationships do you wanna build before you hit 30? 4. What experiences do you wanna have before you turn 30? These 4 questions will have multidimensional answers. Get started, junior.

Just start something. You'll probably fuck it up but that's OK at your age. You'll gain experience and if you're smart you'll learn from your mistakes. Learn by doing. Keep it small scale at first so any down size is minimised. Live cheap and keep working at it. The first rule of business is to survive. The longer you survive the more chances you'll have coming your way. Most people never start and hence never get anywhere.

I started as a freelancer building eCommerce websites. I outsource all my work to contractors and my day to day work is just project management at this point. Some days it is busy but usually, I work about 2 hours a day and I can do it from anywhere as long as I have my phone and my laptop and internet connection. I am fairly confident that you can do that with any kind of work that is done using the internet/computers so don't be discouraged by not having any programming/technical skills. I wasn't a very good programmer to begin with and I am definitely not any better now. I know people that do the same thing in Marketing, Advertising, or Graphic Design. Find a good outsourcing company, they should do the heavy lifting for you. I strongly recommend looking in Vietnam or Ukraine. I also recommend getting some experience in a start-up company that already does something similar. In my case, I did that for 3 years, then I started working for myself. I am 29 now. I started with no investment and when I quit my job I had $1000 on my account. English is my second language, and all my clients are English speaking so that shouldn't be an excuse too! ;) Just do it!

That's pretty awesome! The only thing I would add as a business owner is that luck has little to do with success, maybe overnight success. Really you have to be tenacious, realize upcoming changes and challenges, and adapt quickly. Just my 2 cents. I have a new business and because I positioned myself properly, predicting that Amazon would strangle small businesses if it was expedient for them, I was able to produce 50k in sales in the month of April while other businesses like mine were begging for mercy from creditors.

Very interesting, ive just finished paying my house and car off and found out last week the workplace ive worked at for 15 years is slowing down (range of excuses) and we will be basically put off but held for a while utilizing our holidays, wondering what options someone in my position could utilize, at least I dont have a debt load now which is a huge relife.

Having your home loan paid off is huge. Congrats on that. If I were in your position and didn't have any debt, I'd probably start looking for another income source to at least keep a stream of income coming in while trying to figure out how to scale that up in the next 5 to 10 years. Ultimately just trying to get to a position where I could drop the job permanently. I'm not as far along as you are as of now but that's my goal for the next 5-20 years.

@@warren010h Cheers man, ive been guilty of doing what Rich would say is playing not to lose, careful with women (single mostly) sticking with a difficult job in a remote place so I can clear my debt quickly and few toys/distractions, actually im now thinking of getting an XSR700 road bike for first toy as something to get me out of the house and inspired during this lockdown but im holding out atm because of the uncertain work situation, one advantage of having a conservative aproach is what you have is actually yours and some stability in an increasingly unstable world, playing not to lose or common sense I guess it depends on your perspective but for now thats the only path I knew how to do, I do worry ive let to to much life pass me by while grinding away but at least im somewhat free now, freedom is a core value to me but im not going to lie work shutting down is a huge concern and the option of freedom whether I like it or not rather scary. I know ive been in my comfort zone for way to long and you really live life when your on the edge so I guess those times are coming again at least the basics are sorted, awesome you have great expectations for yourself also just watch those ladies any mismoves there could put years of hard work down the toilet pretty quick, ive seen it happen way to many times.
