How I Got My Brain Back: 6 Top Treatments Your Doctor Does Not Know About

Here are the secrets of recovering from a brain injury. I say secrets because most doctors do not know this. They do not teach about brain injury past the acute stage in most medical schools. I didn't know that. So I wasted a lot of time and money trying to find answers after my traumatic brain injury. With a 30 year professional background in complementary medicine, I tried it all! After consulting with 36 doctors and 38 complementary health care practitioners, I have narrowed it down to my top six treatment modalities, giving you the short-cut to your healing. Today, I would add one more to the list: The work of Dr. Deborah Zelinsky at Mind-Eye Institute in Chicago. Wishing you all optimal brain function!! www.BrainRecoveryCoach.com

My mother has gotten tbi in 2011 from a car accident and her whole right side is dead, it has been so hard trying to find help for her to get better most doctors are very clueless and seem to just call it a dead end which is hard to deal with i thank god i found this channel so i can help my mother

Thank you for this information!!! I acquired a tbi in 2007; Went through rigorous rehab that was amazing, but left a few things out. I've spoken with a few doctors who had nothing to offer and felt like I'm stuck with things like brain fog, memory and visual difficulties. I stopped looking for answers as I was struggling with ptsd and depression, dealing with what I lost and the doctors who couldn't help me. I am stronger now, feel inspired and educated with your video. Again, thank you!

THANK YOU!!! 2010, a woman runs a red light blindsiding me, doctors send me back to work wrangling packs of dogs WITH a TBI, worsened until I lost my business, declared disabled, lost my home and savings, and now living in a van seeing the bottom of the barrel Medicare doctors. (Medi-cal in CA.) Problem is, many people with TBI and PCS are disabled and cannot afford these treatments. I’ll keep eating my berries and turmeric and pray. Thank you so much for this information. 😀🐶

That is exactly the problem and it is so unfair that the only treatments that work are out of pocket and expensive. My hope is that this will change as we continue to raise awareness. Reducing inflamation and diet can really help so definitely do that!!

Thank you so much for sharing your story of healing your Body-Brain-Mind (I see it as all connected). Today I am a retired electronics technician and 65 years old. In 1994 when I was 40 years old I fell down my basement stairs and hit my heard on a concrete corner: the fall was due to a bad reaction to antidepressants. I don't think that I lost conscience, but if I did it was only a minute or two because someone heard me fall and I remember them talking to me at the bottom of the stairs. I did not go to the hospital. I know that there was a change right away but I just denied it and went on with my life. I still have problems with executive thinking and reasoning. I am trying to fix myself and I found your video most helpful because you speak from a place that I can understand.

Till this day the docs keep trying to convince me its depression. I cant even fight hard and long enough for myself to be understood, and VA docs need to see so many patients, I'm left to use my broken brain to solve this problem. Based on her advice and subsequent research, I went to Plasticity Brain Center in Littleton, CO for a week of therapy and it took away the brain fog, awful fatigue, and most of the headaches. Does the system care about healing me or just passing me on doc to doc and the money flies out of my pocket at each one. Keep fighting and talk to Jesus; he walks every day with me through this whole battle and He is the great healer beyond all doctors' ability.

There also are various other ways to strengthen Vagus Nerve function, such as cold therapy and ingesting bitters. Employing Inclined Bed Therapy - in combination with sleep hygiene - is also a real game changer.

Fantastic!! I will have to go back thru and write EVERYTHING down. I will be ordering the Citicholine for a start. I did see Dr Thomas Politzer (vision behavior) in Denver - 17 years ago and he helped more than anyone had the entire 10 years since my TBI. Not having much $ and the fact that our medical and insurance systems don't believe that the things you have discussed will and do help - it often times seems impossible to progress. If I could get to Orlando, FL I'd be there. I DO believe that there is help for us with long-term TBI. I DO believe that I WILL get better. I was 35 when I had "the" car wreck that changed my life. 27 years later I am still seeking answers. Thanks for this inspiring video!

That "focus" chart is almost exactly my vision. It is amazing because I'm sitting at work waiting to get started, look across the room at the wall, and I'm saying to myself something that I've known for quite some time, " When I focus on something, everything around it is a blur, almost feeling cross-eyed. And so I put my hand over my peripheral and it makes it better. I immediately began watching your video and when you put that chart up, I was amazed. I was also amazed when you said behavioral optometrists put something on your glasses to block peripheral. I believe you're a God-sent for me and many others. I've been praying for God to give me answers and direction in healing this. Me and my kids were hit full force by a drunk driver on the way to drop them off at school. We were in a corolla, stopped for a school bus, and slammed into by an old dodge ram. My head apparently hit the steering wheel so hard and fast, I didn't even know I had hit it, just was wondering why I was bleeding out of my mouth. 9 months later, I've has constant, non-stop lightheadedness. Looking at a wall is like what I'd describe as LSD, swirling wall. Sorry for such a long post, but amazed how God answers. Thank you.

Not sure if Im lucky that the TBI I suffered was so clearly evident, hospitalized for 2+ months and a year of out of hospital rehab, so I never questioned that I had a serious brain injury. But I do understand the frustration in trying to find a road the recovery. I, like many TBI sufferers, have become somewhat of an expert on TBI's. And what I've found is.....you ether come out the other side, or you don't. It's really that simple. I came out the other side but with severe fatigue due to my mind creating new neuro pathways. Just do your best, that's all you can ever do.....

That was Feb 17, 2019. 15 months later & im suffering with severe vertigo, fuzzy, clouded brain on my left side, multitasking, chaos, noise I can’t do. My left eye is blurry and so had an MRI which 2 neurologists said looks ok. I’m very driven and frustrated also. I’m a primary teacher, athletic coordinator at our school and coach of a variety of sports. I am a perfectionist in my job and life & now I can’t even teach. I too, have demanded more specialists because I know there’s an issue. I finally saw a neuro optometrist/ behaviouralist, Dr Alison Leung, who discovered just by looking at my eyes with special glasses, that my left eye does not team at all with my right eye. By looking at my MRI, she can see a sheer injury on my occipital lobe and my rt frontal lobe. I’ve been getting vision therapy for my eyes and physiotherapy for my injured neck. I’m so frustrated because I get such severe pressure headaches, ear popping, vertigo and severe carsick type of nausea. I suffer for days, sometimes weeks, after any therapy...a grocery shop at Costco & Superstore cause my symptoms, etc etc. You sound like the person I really need to talk to because I’m at a loss as to whether to stop all therapies, but then have vertigo, headaches & nausea for the rest of my life...or push through this therapy. Thank you. Kindly, Lisa Reid email: Ldreid2@hotmail.com

I live in perth western australia and 30 years ago people with brain injuries put their money together and bought a house and called it headwest and used it for a place where people with abi's are welcome. Goverment funding for people with brain injuries was cut and the house has been removed from pubic access for people with abi's and our local representstion (heawest) has been lost. This is what is happening in perth western Australia to people with abi's. Apparently we are on our own over here.

to clarify, (yes restarting and redoing is the way of life) i do believe there is difference in brain injury in the severity of specific deficits. so there are differences in every brain injury in some ways but i beleive there is an underlying painful strain (headaches, muscular spastic etc) that can be better treated that can make life easier to bare post injury. sorry if my means to communicate if frustrated by the forced linearity of its nature. hope this helps too

Ine of the neurologists that we talked to said the reason MRIs come back normal is because the damage is on a microscopic level in the connection of the neurons, and scans are often not capable of picking that up. MRI's show nothing more than the shape and structure of the brain, and occasional seizures and such IF they happen during the scan. And that EEG's are notorious for regularly missing things. It should be embarrassing that more BRAIN doctors are not educated enough to figure all that out. Shame on the failure of colleges' ability to properly train these physicians.

The cold harsh reality of finding out doctors don't know as much as we (and sometimes they) thought made me so so angry after my son suffered a TBI. The doctors told me to stop researching things for my son, that I also need to take care of myself. I said REALLY? and if I don't,who will? The things I found out that were not done that could or should have been, I can't even describe how I felt and still feel. 6 years on and we are still working on it,but have no help whatsoever. :(

Being reactive when realising how ignorance abounds; this is the first step. Then follows owning one's anger, and moving on pro-actively... Once one sees, you cannot unsee. A huge lesson learned: BE CAREFUL TO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING advanced by mainstream authorities in charge... The way to go, is upstream.
