Let me tell all those wishing to come to work abroad, life here is too hard but if you have faced it, you will make it, and if you want to enjoy the work of your hands, you must forget those people at home because they cam make you go back home with zero. Be prepared to face all the kind of hurting words but all in all, days still moves and finally you will be successful. For me, i have changed my family life completely, am happy to see my parents in a good house, my sisters in school and yet still, my bank loaded and am still here, only waiting for colona to end I come back home.

Was in Dubai 2005-2007, was lied by an agency that was going to work in a hotel to earn ksh.50,000 her name Madina. On an arrival a kikuyu lady picked me up who is a muslim and a citizen there, took me to her house. In the morning I woke up and asked to be taken to the company was supposed to work and they laughed at me, then she said I have to join them not knowing the work they do was prostitution. I cried prayed and she was very angry with me especially when I was reading my bible, chased me out of the house the second day. So I was stranded not knowing what to do. I had my documents if I wanted could have gone back home but I thought how can I? Back home my day is dead, mum very sick, no job, my sieblings still in school, we cant even afford to pay rent. So I decided not to go. I had no pocket money, no one I know. So I used to go tarmac and submit my cv to hotel for jobs, I changed my cy for different roles I can work that whichever comes first will pick. Then at night will go sleep at the terrace, for two month was there begging for food. I lost so much weight from kg 60 went down to under kg30, could not even sit down, at last Jehovah remembered me and got a waitress job at four points Sheraton bur dubai. I went through hell but today to God be the Glory am now in UK for 14 years. Jehovah has been so faithful, to him be all the Glory.

The thing is that there are many stories of women being raped or killed. Some try to escape and the family/employers call the police and have them put in jail. Some get their passports taken and get stranded so they can't even return to their families. It is better to be alive than die in the middle east.

It's mostly poverty driven and lack of proper information. If our govt or people in authorities would give credible information about the REAL mistreatment and unbearable struggles working abroad then people would think twice. But due to joblessness the govt unresponsibly and knowingly let their citizens to go these BEASTFUL countries in the name of working. Kenyans vote for people who will bring maendeleo, and create strong economy for job growth in our country. A vote for ukabila mtu wenyu is a vote for continued umaskini and more umasikini!!!

Please be informed that it is ILLEGAL for a man to live in the same house as a woman in Dubai and ALL GULF COUNTRIES. The claim that your wife/partner lived there is irrelevant and could land you in jail. Only legally married people can live in ONE house and the lease must have your names or employer's name. Stay away from trouble please..Kenyans already have a bad enough reputation out there that's why employers now prefer Ugandans and Zimbabweans who speak equally good English and have a better attitude to work and life.

Hey Christine

Kindly, those guys who are complaining about Dubai, got there through back doors, but if go by established Agency like Global Agent at Embassy house u be given of details jobs .
That's the problem Kenyans should tell people what really happening in gulf ndio mtu asi kue na matumaini Mingi
Travelling to serve families in Dubai is a testament to the failure of governance in Kenya. Very shamefull.
Who do we blame for all these issues but our leaders
Things Kwa ground ni different...but patience pays
Something interesting is that Ugandans are getting access to Jobs very fast in most countries that other East Africans.
Amazing
How do you expect to go on your own without following procedures put in by the government and then complain, to safeguard your labour rights use the right channel. Kindly don't be biased tell also the positive impact it created to the lives of many Kenyan's. Follow jicho pevu footsteps and give us evident information I haven't seen the travel documents of the said persons how can you prove they were there.....
It's damn hot here guys, life is not as good as people think,if your well in abroad ,you should thank God.

Some people are just difficult people and doubting thomases. Doubting thomases. Let them just come and suffer probably they will learn. Countless times have I found stranded sisters and brothers in the streets with their bags not knowing what to do. It's not glossy out here unless you have a career.

If we eliminate corruption in Kenya, this would be one of the best places to live. We stop importing everything and start manufacturing. Doing value addition. More work opportunities will be created.

When searching job abroad avoid shortcuts and easy options go to a genuine agency do your research and do interviews with the employers once u get selected ull get a genuine job if u fail interview u keep trying, genuine companies know kenyans are hardworking and ambitious and there are great opportunities for many, all the best to those willing to find jobs in gulf.
Job opportunities ziko Kenya but uchumi yeti ndio mbaya making our ladies go to Middle East n Ugandan ladies coming into Kenya for greener pastures coz uchumi Wetu mzuri compared na wao na the little they get here is enough kwao.
better work in gulf than stay in my home Kenya and remain poor ,,prayers is the key here we serve by the grace of God
Dont expect to get an employment of yo choice that u studied for bcz these countries are more developed than our countries like uganda, kenya,u go as a doctor unfortunately u end up laying beds for patients, they have bad perceptions towards black people, its only the english that favour us mostly in those countries ,they have skilled labour from pakistan, india Bangladesh and those nationalities gets jobs quicker than Africans only that they dont know english wic is limiting them to less payment
Ken my brother I have seen you
Good but can you kindly bring someone who dont work in these houses.atleast you see dubai in another way.really not every where is bad
I’m sorry for my sisters.
Even 8 in number was not too much these guys they have big families.
Watu watembee wafunguke akili,,you can't compare a village graduate with a primary dropout who've been abroad and seen and learnt alot about life.my coming abroad has opened my knowledge on need of African identity and excellence if we need to be respected and acknowledged by other races and regions.

Guys if you can make it to the so called gulf I advise you to go ahead and find means. Been in Kenya and you aren't earning that much you will get paid in gulf is not advisable. This guy's are here telling Kenyans in Dubai there no jobs yet wamekatalia huko? The only problem we have in Kenya is our corrupted and disgusting government which doesn't care of there citizens as other nationalities that work in gulf do.
