So if you’re using the Adam monitors why do you have in ears in?
An absolute wealth of knowledge not just when it comes to badass guitar playing but also recording and sound engineering! These videos are invaluable and i couldn't appreciate you enough for sharing said knowledge. Thank you.
Corey, thanks for taking us through your recording process for home. This reinforced some things I've been doing and other options via the OX. Cheers!!
Killer playing as always, Corey! I love my Adam Audio speakers too! I was playing through them with my D20 last night. It gives me honest sound to tell me where my tone is at which is awesome.
Many thanks for this one, answered lots of questions i've been wondering about, great job !
Awesome ! I just ordered a set of these for my studio before I even saw this . I even have the Sound ID software and mic already to tweak when needed . You always have great tone !
Super information, thanks Corey!
Great presentation - valuable info for all
I love how Corey plays and records like a producer, more than just a “guitarist” he’s getting all the small details of his sound locked down

Great to hear your monitors mic'd Corey, it's not something we hear very often from any guitar KZreadrs! They sound really good. I used JBL 305P 5" monitors and they're good for the price (about $300 a pair). Those Adams sound fantastic and although not cheap, they're not crazy price for home use.
Such a solid video, dude!!!

Dude… great video, love the channel and I couldn’t agree with you more. 👍 I have had a similar set up since 2016 and juiced it up in 2019 to the current config: Axe-Fx II XL+ into MOTU 828x into Adam A7X. No amps, but the Axe-Fx has so many Amps models, Cabs, Pedals and so many parameters to tweak for each, that I’ll spend the rest of my life discovering new sounds, without the neighbors chasing me out of the building. 😂 The A7X monitors make all the difference; I had a set of Blue Sky 2.1 speakers before (PC speakers on steroids) they sounded OK, but I didn’t discover what was really happening with the mids until I got the A7Xs. They are so detailed, it really sounds like there is an amp in the room.

As always, wonderful content and very helpful as well! The A7Vs are now on my radar and I'll be sure to consider em' when upgrading. The only other speakers/monitors I've been considering purchasing are the Dynaudio, simply because I need something a bit more flatter sounding for mixing but also something good for just listening to music. But again, these Adams sound like another great option, maybe even the better one, based on how well it works with guitar tones and specifically, this particular setup (Ox/real amps/Apollo) which is exactly what I'll be using and relying on for guitar tones. After a few months of researching the OX, I'm just about ready to pull the trigger, thanks to videos like Pete Thorn's, yours and a few others that have showcased it so fantastically! Anyway, Corey, thanks so much! Dave

Thank you for your awesome content corey. Do you also use room correction while recording (sonarworks for example). The Adam A7v supports loading those corrections directly into the DSP inside them… Or what is yoir general opinion regarding these corrections?
Corey, really nice content on this video. I just got my Sire S7 this weekend (you're a bad influence, or a good one - depends on how you looks at it), and it is special - thanks for the video on that a while back, and it sounds great in this vid too. I can't believe the quality for the price - easily punches twice what I paid. My problem isn't recording guitars or vocals. It has always been recording drums. What do you use on your backing tracks? I currently am using Logic Pro, and I'm (trying) using EZDrummer3, but neither really give me what I want for flexibility of changing groove. I'm curious to what you and others do for drums (not real drums, of course), but computer drums?
Very interesting...thanks.
all awesome stuff as usual... thank you SO much fer all the free info... i'm waiting for my 5inch Pre Sonus mons to get here, i have the 3.5" s now hooked up to my Mac mini, they sound So good i'm getting the big bros to give them a go. fer my needs, Disabled/retired, they are in range of me budget AND i get to sound like a pro at low volumes, and having them fer Utube and tunes at my place, fer the $$$ should be great. again, many thanks fer all the awesome content & tunes. be well, stay safe, AND have a blast. thnx ;0) M
Love that Marshall tone! What were your eq settings on the head?
great video. I’ve always wanted an OX but it’s very expensive. What do you think of using a captor-X as an alternative? The biggest limitation I see is that there are only two attenuation settings. But it’s less than half the price of an OX. Those Adams are top of the line, but I went with a less expensive option. I know quality of the speaker is paramount, but that’s a lot of money. P.S.love your True Fire lessons. am a big fan of your teaching style.
This is great if you already have tons of gear. But for regular people I recommend just getting some software plugin like BiasFX2, Helix Native or some Neural DSP one. Very cheap, lots of options and sounds great.
Thanks for sharing this Corey! I love the sounds you get out of that setup. I thought I heard you say you could just hook the monitors directly to the OX. Did I hear that correctly? Can you still use the OX app if you hook it up that way?
@coreycongilio

Hey Mark. My pleasure! Yes, you could come out of the of directly into any powered monitor. It all depends on the connections you use and what the inputs are on the speakers. The ox app works on desktop or iPad and connects directly to the Ox. You can still use it with or without it a computer
Thanks for this, Corey. Very helpful. New here and subbed. I purchased a Volt 2, ToneX pedal, UA Del-Verb and next purchase will be on Adam speakers. For now I use headphones. Hi Cory excellent video. The mic recording the Adam speakers is that recording your voice or do you have another mic? Being a professional musician did you incorporate yourself for tax and write off purposes or being in the union takes care of that? I’ve never been around a true professional to ask those questions. I would love some constructive criticism I have 4 videos in KZread: E. Papa Scott Colvin. I love playing guitar. 😊

How do the Genelec 8010A at 3” compare to a larger cheaper studio monitor? Or the Adam higher end A4V VS the cheaper but larger T7V? It would be great to save some space if a ‘higher’ quality monitor can get there at a smaller size
@coreycongilio

I've got some tube amps, a Helix Floor and some plugins.
