And is NOT dependent on the velocity of the wind. As even in a vacuum the coriolis force acts on a planet with no wind in it. If the question is coriolis effect on wind thenit depends on the wind velocity as the object itself is the wind. If we talk about coriolis force on a bullet then its independent of wind as it only depends on speed of the bullet. Even ocean currents are influenced by coriolis force even if there is no wind in ocean. In conclusion, Coriolis force on wind increases with increases with its wind speed. Coriolis force in general for any object is INDEPENDENT of wind speed and solely on object’s velocity in that rotating frame, So 1st statement is wrong. And the 2nd is correct as at poles the Coriolis force becomes -2mwv (Sin 90 degrees) = -2mwv which is maximum value and at equator its -2mwv (Sin0) which is 0. Hence, Absent. Answer is B. I had 98 in prelims last year and reached till interview, but this year I also made the same mistakes as you of not revising static properly and overthinking in exam so getting only 92. its more because of stress in exam day- we tend to study but never prepare ourselves for exam day and hence these blunders occur

Don't be panic mam .depression ,schezophrenia destroy whole life .any exam is just an exam .life is very big than upsc .I too scoring 83 in gs and clearing csat .last year too scored 61 in gs

Basic NCERT was keys to these paper .I have read Economics from best teacher Vibhas Jha Sir ... Very deep but what it came was rest is history. One lesson UPSC try it's best from away from coaching materials.

Paper easy tha.. no doubt about it... Almost all the questions were static on top of that from priority areas. That's the exact same reason which pisses me off after the exam ki itni easy aane ke baad bhi why was i not able to do well... I was so frustrated after the exam that i felt so miserable... Still i am sad now coz I didn't clear the prelims obviously but more than that i am sad because of the fact that i was not able to do well in the exam... Even if i passed this years prelims i wont stand a chance in this years mains coz more than 3/4th of my mains preparation is not done... So this year i am doing everything integrated along with making my foundations strong.. Sis Whatever happens it is for greater Good. It is the courage to continue that counts☺️☺️

Many (more than 12-15) mistakes of mine are similar with yours.... only I made conceptual questions of geography nearly all correct... I made foolish mistakes in polity...... I made many mistakes because of twisted way of thought pattern which I developed during last 3-4 months of mock tests....now I have lost confidence to appear again next year..... seriously don't know what I am going to do....

UPSC panel is very clever 😂😂 They already knew that many of the aspirants have started solving PYQs and based on that notions whosoever went with the thought that if there are three statement given in questions then most of the time 2 of them happens to be correct 😂😂 Extremes statements and Extreme words were deliberately removed from the exams ..and question paper was framed just for these students 😂😂 Otherwise if one wouldn't have had solved PYQ aur analysed PYQs he would have cleared Prelims because wo question ki statement of unki face value se read krta without overthinking and clear kr leta 😂😂😂

Last year i could attempt only 62(scored 64) in GS and 28 in CSAT(scored 35) even after 1and half years rigorous prep. And miserably failed in both . But this time i am scoring 90+( 92-97range) in GS and 105+ in CSAT and hope i will clear but fearful due yo high prediction of cut off .Don't lose hopes you'll rock in coming years.

@@SelfCivilServant let me give you an honest feedback. You have done all the hardwork and somehow luck is involved in this exam. Also, just accept the fact that it was to happen so it's happened. People will give you a lot of suggestions like you should have not taken stress, not taken risks, etc. But, it was all about the D day, sometimes things are not just in our hands. accept the fact, accept it and embrace it sometimes in our life we will fail even after giving our 100% , how you look at it makes who you are. At some point of time we all are going to face the unexpected you can't avoid such things. Just accept it & keep doing the good work. Also, most people can't understand you in this situation. Things happen, let it be. Failures and setbacks develops empathy within us. You did your best. Accept it. Best wishes.
