I now understand why dolls are talked about in old books as costing like, the equivalent of thousands of dollars and being a status symbol. amazing craftsmanship

Not to mention the fact that many of those dolls came with their own wardrobes?
I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you making a male porcelain doll, there’s such a lack of male dolls in the doll world (especially porcelain) so it makes me incredible happy whenever I see someone make one 💜 Not to mention Friedrick is so handsome ✨

Thank you for appreciation! Male dolls usually get less attention, so I'm glad you like Friedrik 😊

Definitely not in the bjd world, there's a lot of cool male dolls out there!
As a ceramic sculptor myself, I just want to say that you set an incredibly high standard in every thing you create. Your sculpting is beautiful and your molds are frankly wonderful. An amazing attention to detail too. Wonderful to watch. And also talking about safety is very important and not enough ceramics artists talk about it, so good on you for that!❤
The levels of absolute precision, dedication, and artistry you've put into these dolls is astounding!
I am truly amazed. I can't even image how many hours and patience it must have took you. I am sure it's a process not too much different from birthing a child. Doll-making is an art form on all levels, and the old style porcelain way takes it even further. Love and admiration from Italy

You are a potter and a seamstress and a tailor and a cobbler and a cosmetologist and a makeup artist and a doll maker. There are many within all of these that I’ve missed, I’m sure. But to say you are a master of many trades is an understatement. I admire anyone with the skill, vision and talent to see this project through to the end. It really is miraculous. Thank you so much for sharing it all with us. I hope your channel grows quickly and massively, as you deserve. ✌🏻🤍

And an incredible sculptor as well!
These are genuinely some of the most beautiful dolls I’ve ever seen, I expected this video to have millions of views
It's incredible in how many skills you must excel at to make these dolls..drawing, scuplting, painting, sewing...You're amazingly talented
There’s something magical about porcelain dolls that 3D printed dolls just cannot recreate.

I agree. interestingly however, if sanded right, 3d printed resin is still more realistic than apoxie sculpt and certain other clays because of the ability for light to pass through. I work in a museum and repair for ex bones. I attached 3d printed bones to real bone via apoxie sculpt (and other archival adhesive) and it irked me that even under layers of paint, there was a point where light would not pass the same at the opaque clay location.

@@wanderingintime but her technique and the materials means the faceup is forever, doesn't chip etc, also the porcelain feels different that any resin, resin is basically plastic while porcelain has a timeless ethereal quality to it.

Every material has its own purpose and reason, one is not better than the other. Porcelain takes a very long time to complete and is a very expensive product, often the artist cannot reliably sell to make a living. 3D printed resin dolls are often faster to make and are more affordable to people who would not be able to afford a porcelain doll. This way the artist can still afford to live and continue making porcelain work :)

@@derpestarztI never negated the fact that porcelain was 'magical.' it is super cool! I was stating that resin is realistic in the fact that it allows light to pass in a similar fashion to porcelain, unlike opaque clays like apoxie sculpt/milliput/grey polymer. I didnt say anything bad about porcelain. (I think the word 'but' has given me the idea that you thought I was saying porcelain wasnt as good as something?)
I am blown away...I can't believe I saw a 50 min video with such attention. I usually talk to others when watching but I actually did back whenever I missed even 10 seconds of the video. I absolutely love it and I am so in awe. This is so gorgeous wow! I can't believe how long, how much patience, practice and everything that it takes. I feel so emotional and stunned and I am not even exaggerating! Both of them are amazing, the details that you added to each part and the coloring stage! I am so impressed aaaaa I thought they were twins though and not a couple...? 😭

Thank you very much for such kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊 I think they are twins, or even maybe two incarnations of the same person. I probably misused the word "couple" there, I just meant there's two of them.

@@sofiedolls You’re welcome! Thanks for making such a high quality video ☺️ That is a great interpretation :D I’ll watch rest of the videos in the coming days.
всегда уважал людей , умеющих творить душой и работать руками. Респект.
Your work is beautiful! I'm used to seeing repaint videos with Monster High dolls or other fashion dolls, but I had never seen someone sculpting such a beautiful doll from scratch out of porcelain. When you said you had to burn each paint layer and that the process took week, it reminded of other doll artists that use Mr Super Clear sealant between each layer. The difference is that the stakes here are much higher, you cannot remove the paint after it burns. I was just mesmerized by the process. Subscribed!
They look like Charles and Camilla from The Secret History, they are so elegant!! I’m in love, truly a work of art
I've seen tons of doll making videos, and your precision, attention to detail, and finishings are absolutely the best I've e seen so far. Beautiful work!!!!

Thank you for kind words!
I had never before seen a doll made from idea to posed end product. I'm an admirer, not a collector, so this is an "uninformed" assessment. This video held me spellbound. The range of skills, the depth of knowledge and degree of craftsmanship required is jaw-dropping. The results are magnificent. I now have a much deeper respect for and appreciation of doll makers.
I wish I could buy them. They are so beautiful. The attention to detail is just incredible!! These are works of art that will be discussed on KZread 100 and 200 years from now. You are immortal. You will live on forever in your works of art.
I didn't realise quite how much painstaking work it takes to make a perfectly unique porcelain doll. No wonder they cost so much money to buy. Thank you for such an interesting and informative video. I think the dolls and their clothes, boots and hair are exquisite. Xxx
They’re incredibly beautiful. I’m blown away by your skill and craftsmanship.
Your talent of sculpting these pristinely symmetrical dolls, casting them in porcelain and bringing them to life is proof that divinity in the creative human spirit exists! You are manifesting magic!
Absolutely blown away with the attention to all the minute details. I stumbled across your channel and was mesmerized by the process of making these dolls. I can't get over all the care and time you take to delicately sculpt and assemble them. These are true works of fine art.
As a professional artist and sculptor myself, your process was a joy to watch. I produce a lot of figurative sculpture, with thoughts of venturing into articulated figures, so you are truly, truly inspiring……Such beautiful work…..and those shoes are a work of art in themselves!
I fully consider it art, because the artist has his own identity and personality which he transmits to his creations which become so unmistakable, they bear the signature of their creator, their appearance is unique and there is no other identical one.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make such an in-depth tutorial, I haven't seen one so detailed before. I didn’t realise how labour-intensive porcelain was, which made me understand why these kinds of dolls are so expensive. The assembling must be nerve racking and exciting. I tried making a doll out of polymer clay, it was just nightmare fuel and people were scared of it, one kid told me that I shouldn’t be wasting my talents on things like that and I should burn it and burry it in a hole, lol
I’m absolutely AMAZED with your attention to the finest of details and having handmade every garment and the leather boots! I’m blown away!!
Those ar not just dolls but a piece of art they need more appreciation and recognition . I know how hard and time consuming prosess it is to work with porcelain and the details u added its makes them priceless . I am really inspired by your work . I onces tried to make a sculpture out of clay but i gave up but now i want to try again and explore sculpting and doll making . 😅 I don't know if i have talent or not but i will try my best . I can feel how delicate this doll feels on the hands who made them .The love and passion u have for doll making is just unspeakable . Love u and your dolls a lot .Hope to see an exhibition for your dolls in the future . Lots of love from India ❤❤❤❤
Making porcelain dolls has allways been a dream of mine, your work is an inspiration, it looks wonderful and I am very grateful to be able to see the entire process, you are truly an artist.
I will never look at porcelain dolls the same way. Absolutely incredible! Thank you for sharing!
I’m mesmerised by those tiny buttons and button loops! ❤ I wish I could like this a thousand times
It's so nice to see dolls made with blonde hair! It seems like every one like this I watch they all have dark hair or some other color. They turned out beautifully. It's such a wonderful thing, to be able to create like this.
I always have crazy huge respect for BJD Artists. This artform cannot be belittled by a single soul in God's green earth. It transcends and overlaps other skills in order to reach peak perfection and the hours spent is outrageous. Marina Bychkova once said something like: Doll-making demands the crafter to learn many skills so the artform is much serious and never boring. Hurts to hear people, who are not fans and who aren't even interested, say bad things when they find out how much these preciousness costs. I'm a new fan of yours and a long-time fan of the artform. Will be waiting for future works from you, for sure! 🖤

I guess I thought these beautiful objects just appeared fully formed, like magic! The amount of work, artistic talent, and engineering skills required to create these gorgeous porcelain dolls is unbelievable. I can now appreciate the value of these works of art. I really enjoyed watching the entire process. 💞
I am obsessed, absolutely enamoured with this. The process is long and seems so time consuming but by God is such a pretty result.
Your artistry, skill and patience stand out from the ordinary. It is so overwhelming to watch your process. Thank you for allowing us access to your workshop to view your beautiful work!
I don’t know why your video popped up in my feed, but I watched the entire thing! Beautiful work! I love the attention to detail on these beautiful dolls!
Wow. Randomly watched this, you know, we should never reduce an artist's work as an object of paranormal. These dolls are made with good intent and dedication.
the level of craftsmanship is crazy... you have balls of steel to work with silica sand..... no wonder these dolls are so expensive!
Amazing!! Wish the world no longer produced plastic and resin dolls, and we reverted back to purely porcelain dolls and other materials kinder to the environment. Better to own fewer dolls of these materials than lots of dolls made of toxic stuff. You are 100 percent right about the glowing beauty of porcelain dolls. Theyre out of this world!
The amount of detail and care you put into every step is amazing, your work is beautiful
Incredible. Just. Wow. Such skill and talent, I wish you the best

Thank you so much. This is one of the most amazing and incredible videos I have ever had the privilege to watch. I am blown away by your skills, perfection in drawing the dolls and all the intricate steps to make your exquisite dolls and with such refined perfection to detail. The wigs, clothing are superb and the boots! Oh the boots are too gorgeous for words as are your dolls. How wonderful to have found your passion and to master your art with such sublime perfection. Xx ❤ ❤❤ Bravo!
Beautiful work and so informative! It’s insane how many different skills you have to master to create these. A sculptor, kiln operator, painter, hairdresser, seamstress and shoemaker all in one
Oh my Lord! Astonishing. They are absolutely wonderful and magical. So much work. It's obvious they are a labor of love. Thank you for sharing this amazing video.
Не буду оригинальной,но скажу,что Вы- чудо!!!! Залипательное видео!!! Я просто влюбилась в вас и ваши работы!!!! Да!! Это ж сколько нужно уметь!!! А терпения сколько!!! Браво!!!
Absolutely stunning. I love dolls, but these dolls reach another level.
Breath taking, I was mesmerized all the way through your video, you are a true artist 🩷 absolutely beautiful dolls, I think if I owned one I would just look at it all day, you have a true gift 🩷🤓
You are extremely talented, and your dolls are a work of art. I had no idea that porcelain doll making was so intricate. I was gifted a gorgeous porcelain doll by a friend, it had been custom made for her when she was a young child but she didn’t want it anymore, so she gave it to me. Now I will appreciate it all the more now that I know what it took to make her.
There’s something amazing about seeing this from start to finish .you often forget what life was like before 3d printing
WOW!! You are truly remarkable. The work and time you put into these dolls makes them priceless. Thank you for showing us this process. Your patience and attention to detail are enviable. God bless you and your remarkable hands.❤
this was, from beginning to end, absolutely fascinating to watch. the attention to detail, the care and craft, you are an amazing artist

I've recently started making paper mache dolls of similar size, and after watching you work I think I would go insane with the patience that porcelain must require. Your skill, dedication, and attention to detail is astonishing! Watching your method of wig making has changed my world and I will probably try to do something similar for my dolls from now on. Subscribed for sure, and I can't wait to see more from you in the future!
Amazing craftsmanship! Please make more of this :D
This video blew my mind. I have no words to add. The clothes and shoes alone were amazing pieces of art. I loved your process. I still cannot understand how the hands and feet hooked to the body it was too fast. Your talent is truly exceptional for the hands. Best hands I have ever seen. You are very talented. I always wanted to know how porcelain was created. And difference with bisque and porcelain. And Wedgwood porcelains being blue not transparent white.
Wow you are totally amazing!!! Your porcelain dolls are gorgeous and what a process. Loved watching you create everything.
I’m so in awe of what you’ve done here! Your work is incredible. I also thought it was funny that the base androgynous face model is basically tilda swinton haha. It’s beautiful!
I am in awe of your art, & the craft you’ve perfected to create these dolls. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
The level of artistry is astounding. Thank you for sharing the details of your process. I want to try this one day. Definitely on y bucket list now. So inspiring !
You are a truefully and complete artist. With a great gift. I am amazed!
I was glued to your video, admiring all the work you put into your masterpiece dolls. Truly beautiful.
I love KZread for this very type of content. I don't have a desire to make a doll, keep bees, play an instrument or bake wedding cakes. But I find the process so interesting. It's a stretch but I can see some similarities between porcelain doll making and my old profession of dental lab tech.

Amazing! Your video took me back to many years ago when I was obsessed with BJDs (even though I never got to own one), always love the porcelain ones and loved to see how the few known artists back then brought their art to live. Loved to see your video showing the full process! Amazing! You are very talented, your dolls look amazing, the attention to detail and dedication is just wow! 👏
my gosh, these are so perfect. there are simply no words other than that for me to describe them. so i will say it again: perfect! never stop making art. it is so good for the soul and it also lets others see into the universe within your mind. thank you for the perfect creation you have shared with us. may your art reach far and wide into the world and may you never stop making it.

Art at its finest. How incredible.
As a ceramicist and sculptor, this was very, very impressive. Wow.
You are a true artisan , I have no interest in dolls , but I watched the entire video , because of your skill and craft .
Thank you for such a thorough explanation of your process. It's very inspiring. Makes me want to make dolls again.
That was a marvelous experience, watching your beautiful young hands operate with such skill. The genius is in your Central Nervous System and your Peripheral one, dancing a finely choreographed ballet. Extraordinary to see! Thanks for your generosity, to share like that.❤
This was an absolute delight to watch. Such creativity and artistry that is simply not seen anymore. Thank you so much for sharing your craft with us.
Doll making is so intricate and I feel like you have to learn many skills just to master it. Truly one of the more difficult hobbies but I want to make dolls like these someday
