How I Create Notes for Books I Love

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I've recently begun to refine my method for taking book notes. Not every book warrants its own notes, but for those pivotal to my work, this technique significantly aids in my understanding and absorption of the material.
If you’re been thinking of starting your own collection of notes, I hope this video is helpful!

Great video. I love the analog style with the highlighters. I've also been surprised at how much I enjoy using a kindle>readwise>obsidian workflow for that part. I'm working my way through The Educated Mind by Susan Wise Bauer right now, and I'm seeing a lot of parallels with your system. Great stuff. Looks like you're going through all three stages of the trivium. I've started making a separate page of notes for each stage: grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric. I've been a heavy reader all my life, but being more systematic about my notes has given it a new dimension. I wish I'd started sooner. Great content! Keep it up!

It’s a great path to be on. I’m a huge fan of Readwise and Obsidian and will be making videos in the future about how I’m using them for my notes as well.
