Hi! I first knew Blender when I was 58, and I studied hard on KZread for two years. On KZread, you are one of my teachers. I finally started my own KZread in 2021 this year when I was 60 years old. My content is music videos I made with my own music and video. It's really difficult, but my retirement life has become fun. I would like to express my gratitude to you for helping me learn Blender. Thank sooo much!

Missing important step, self note: When you have done making everything with your metaball shape you need to convert it to mesh and you're doing it by Right Mouse Button clicking on empty space opening Object Context Menu and then clicking Convert to>Mesh

I've never used blender. Probably never will, it's currently 3am and I just watched this whole thing in awe. People are amazing, man. This was a sweet video
I learned so much more here in blender than in the other 30 to 60 plus minute blender tutorials. Especially when the goal for me is to use blender as a tool create digital art faster and potentially use it to create environments
This is equivalent to a 1990's guitar tutorial video where they shred, then say "Ok! Now you try!" Liked/Subbed
Okay so open up Blender and...... What did he say again?

@CGI Overloaded Technically, it's not inaccurate. The title says: how _I_ create 3D animated characters in Blender in 10 minutes, which indicates that he is explaining how he personally creates characters in such time while not strictly having to keep to that specified time in the actual video. The title does *not* say: how _to_ create a 3D character in 10 minutes, which, if that had been the case, would have indeed been inaccurate.

I disagree. It depends on how much detail you want to put into the thing you are making. I was able to get something decent in about 30 minutes of total blender work. I got some bug where my meshes would disappear, but i don't count that as actual development work. You don't need to focus on 1 area for 15 hours. Do 1 layer of detail on the entire body, then do another one and another one and gradually add the detail. Honestly, in 5 hours you should have a pretty good model - i am excluding the animation and cloth physics and that type of shit cuz i don't even know in what menu to find those.
I just started Blender a month ago and wanted to see what it takes to make a character. Pretty time consuming (as expected) but thanks for doing a quick over view of important things to do and wow without having a 3 hour tutorial. To me, this is achievable.
Bro.. i started working with blender a month ago.. been finding tutorials thag help but i keep finding my way back to youtube because its a lot to take in... you legit summarized everything i was questioning in 5 minutes!! Thanks man, great video w
Great video! Recently I've been working on a character and re-topologizing it and personally I like using the poly build tool with auto vertex joining on with a bit of a margin. Really simplifies things for most cases.
Weirdly enough this is the best tutorial I've seen for character creation in blender. Thank you Steve!
The most valuable speed-creating session with SO MUCH HELPFUL AND INSTRUCTIVE details. Your tutorial is still relevant after 2 years. The only cons: too fast demo even if it's complete. Thank you very much.

You can run Blender on a Chromebook. You just have to go into the Settings, and enable Linux. It's a little more complicated to set up and run, and you'll have to deal with limited storage, slow rendering, and no number pad, but it's enough to get started
