    It isn't 50% of the shape that is in 4D, it's an infinitely thin slice of the shape that is visible to you while the rest is in 4D. That's because you're a 3D being, and trying to view the 4th dimension for you is like a 2D guy on a piece of paper trying to look at a 3D object by making the object pass through the piece of paper

  • @redthorne1129

    @redthorne1129

    Important to note: it's a 3D "slice", so not actually what we 3D beings would generally refer to as a slice (2D). The infinitely thin "slice" of 4D space is a fully realized 3D space just as a "slice" of 3D space is a fully realized 2D plane.

    @@redthorne1129 If I understand this correctly... a 2d view (or a shadow) of a 3d sphere... is a circle. Which means a 3d view (or shadow) of a 4d Hyper-sphere... is a sphere. Is that correct? While I can understand this as a sentence using logic... I'm trying to visualize this... and my brain is taking a shit on itself. The only way I can try to imagine it... is starting with a 3d sphere, seeing it from a 2d perspective, i see the circle growing then shrinking... so then i take a 4d sphere... and my normal 3d perspective... and i'm seeing a sphere / ball growing and shrinking right in front of me like it's levitating in mid-air. This doesn't help me see the full shape in 4d though.

    Yeah, and seriously, because of the nature of the 4th Dimension, if we somehow entered the fourth dimension, our three-dimensional bodies are probably going to stop working or would be completely destroyed the very moment we enter the fourth dimension so we would need to do transfer our Consciousness into numerous of PI in order to enter the fourth dimension without any problems and that's the main reason why we cannot enter the 4th Dimension right now other than the fact that it would also take an unimaginable amount of energy to actually enter the fourth dimension in the first place! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🙏

    It's really unfortunate how surface level this is, especially with a quantum physicist trying to help, but you're insanely talented with building and you seem passionate about what you do so I'm just happy you're having fun! For those of you that are curious about some of the scientific terminology and science behind this, here are a few notes: The 4th dimension cannot be shown in 3d obviously, and the creator did mention this several times so I don't blame them for trying to do so creatively. However, they do use some confusion terminology to reference to 4th dimension. The 4th dimension is not fractals, though that is a very creative way to visualize the idea of 4th dimensional beings being able to see through 3d objects. The 4th dimension would not be another reality, it would be another dimension of our same reality, and would especially not be something you can access through 2d portals that's just not how dimensions work. For example we can see all 3 dimensions because light interacts with all 3 dimensions, no more no less. If light were to move through a 4th dimensional space, we couldn't see the same way. If the world did have more than 3 dimensions then our insides would spill out into the 4th dimension, just like if 2d creatures existed in this world, their insides would spill into the 3rd dimension. And lastly, the most annoying part about this in my opinion, but something that's pretty popular to ignore these days, is that the 4th dimension IS NOT THE SAME as the many worlds hypothesis. A dimension is something like length, width, and depth. A WORLD or universe is what the many worlds hypothesis refers to. Another thing to note, the many worlds hypothesis is controversial not because it would change our perspective on things, scientists love finding new perspectives. It's controversial because it's un-falsifyable, meaning if it's true there would be no way to prove or disapprove it, just like the existence of a deity. This dips more into the realm of philosophy and religion which exist outside of science since they can't be proven or disproven. These things aren't by any means wrong to think about, they just aren't a part of science since there's no way to research them. Thank you for reading my rant and sorry if it turned you off from science or these topics in any way, that's not my intention. All of these concepts are well worth the research, as in my opinion the world is more beautiful and interesting if you know what's what and how to think about it all in your head. Over all this video was insanely creative and beautiful and I have nothing against the creator! The science just wasn't completely correct lol. Though I do believe they did their best when they're just trying to make some cool ass builds in Minecraft.

Sure, he built shadows of 4D shapes, but that doesn't get him closer to his goal. It's like building a bridge along a river. He built the bridge, but he can't attach it to the other side without first having crossed it. It's a gap he cannot overcome the way he tried.

    Oh that's awesome. I may describe 5th dimension actually. It starts with you observing multiple if not infinite you's and their realities. The closest ones to you are basically almost in perfect sync with you because you have such minimal differences (it actually is kinda useful cause you can look at multiple directions at the same time). These you's obviously discover this dimension at the same time with you and they think like you so they are the easiest to feel. Then it gets more and more different until you can see yourself at the possible lowest and possible highest (which you can observe of course). Then it gets even weirder cause you see the past the future and the present at the same time. Then you see it from other you's perspectives. Aaaaand i didn't get further yet(i'm still kind of at the start of the multiple you's part but the recent revelation showed me what is gonna be next on the path to 5th dimension).

Search the 3blue1brown video for explaining). Plus the explanations are wrong. Like the explanation about 4D-vision. Which doesn't let you see absolutely everything but lets you see the whole 3D object with its inners and backs. And about "50% of 4D object in 4D space" is very confusing. 3D slice of 4D object is always INFINITELY smaller than the whole objects. But still the building are amazing! • @gregorywalpole8442

    Yeah, to properly do the "4D in Minecraft" thing, you'd have to crack open the source code and add a W coordinate, hook up some buttons to allow turning in the new axis, and mess with the graphics so that it would display the 3D cross slice your 3D character's vision would encompass properly. (The visual capabilities of an actual 4D being would be a mess to even try to simulate on a 2D monitor screen.) And of course you'd need the biome and structure generator to generate along that axis as well, lest the player fall into the void immediately upon taking a step in that direction. I've even seen a Minecraft-like game out there that does most of that called 4D Miner. But agreed, it's still an impressive and beautiful build.

    "Ummm actually the fourth dimension is a concept that has fascinated scientists and the general public alike for centuries. While we can easily understand the first three dimensions of space (height, width, and length), the fourth dimension is much more difficult to comprehend. The Limitations of Our Perception One of the main reasons why we can't understand the fourth dimension is that our brains are not equipped to perceive it. We experience the world in three dimensions, and our brains have evolved to process information in this way. As a result, we find it difficult to imagine anything beyond the three dimensions that we are familiar with To illustrate this point, consider the following analogy. Imagine a two-dimensional creature living on a flat surface. This creature can only move in two dimensions (left and right, up and down), and it has no concept of the third dimension (depth). If you were to show this creature a three-dimensional object, such as a cube, it would have no way of comprehending what it is seeing. It would only be able to see the two-dimensional cross-sections of the cube that intersect with its two-dimensional world. In the same way, we can only see the three-dimensional cross-sections of four-dimensional objects that intersect with our three-dimensional world. The Mathematics of the Fourth Dimension Another reason why we can't understand the fourth dimension is that it is a mathematical concept that is difficult to visualize. While we can use mathematical equations to describe the fourth dimension, it is much harder to create a mental image of what it might look like. For example, we can describe a four-dimensional cube (known as a tesseract) mathematically, but it is almost impossible to visualize what this object would look like in three-dimensional space." The Role of Thought Experiments Despite the limitations of our perception and the difficulty of visualizing the fourth dimension, scientists and mathematicians have developed various thought experiments to help us gain a better understanding of this concept. For example, we can imagine what it would be like to live in a two-dimensional world (as described in the book "Flatland" by Edwin A. Abbott), and then try to extrapolate what it would be like to live in a three-dimensional world. Similarly, we can imagine what it would be like to live in a three-dimensional world, and then try to extrapolate what it would be like to live in a four-dimensional world. Conclusion In conclusion, the fourth dimension is a concept that is difficult for us to understand because of the limitations of our perception and the complexity of the mathematics involved. While we can use thought experiments to gain a better understanding of this concept, we will never be able to truly visualize what the fourth dimension looks like. Nonetheless, the study of the fourth dimension has led to many important discoveries in mathematics and physics, and it continues to be an area of active research today." Yes, I am a nerd and yes, I typed all of this, if something is perceived in 3d it is not a 4d object."

    If you really want to build the 4th dimension, start with the 5th. 6 for the 5th dimension and 7 for the 6th. So you can't build the lower dimension in the upper dimension, but you can build the lower dimension in the upper dimension. For example, you can show a 2D object in a 3D universe (the 4th dimension is the time dimension, but whatever).
