How I Built A $1 Million Business Making Slime | On The Side

At 17 years old, Jacob Karram started making slime videos from his childhood bedroom in Boca Raton, Florida. After hitting 200K followers on social media, he dropped out of college to turn his hobby into a business. He invested $100 into his venture, using the money to buy basic supplies like glue and containers. Now, Jacob sells around 4,000 jars of slime a week and works out of a 2,500-square-foot warehouse with his 10-person team.

it helps with anxiety for some people, it helps with keeping your hands busy if you touch a lot of things, and the texture depends on what *type* of slime you buy and like. i myself really like slime because of the texture, and because it keeps my hands busy. while yes, its a fun toy for kids, the majority of people whom buy the slime are not children, i believe. another thing, is ive noticed a lot of neurodivergent people (noticeably ADHD and Autism) really like slime. and when you said eye-catching before you mix it, yes it is. and even after you mix it. it just depends on what type of slime it is. because there are very pretty colors, *AFTER* you mix the slime!

Out of all plastic use slime businesses probably don't have the largest impact compared to amazon ebay and so many other stores literally there is plastic everywhere. Slime plays a part but apart from packaging and the add ins slime itself is biodegradable as it is mainly glue with a liquid actuvator. Something such as slime cannot compare to the plastic packaging purchased on a larger scale in stores and eapecially plastic water bottles.

The thing is, at any day slime can just drop and him using a lot of his money on supplies such as glue, containers, food colouring, toppings, activator, etc. then he could become bankrupt because the money he has, he spends on basic needs. And having a million dollars, I don’t expect him to have such a small house… so it’s a lot of bills!

Dear parents : 1. Its kind of useless, whats the use of slime or how do you play with it? Its to relieve stress and very fun to play with, it also looks pretty. 2. Ew! It must be very sticky right? It depends. Sometimes the slime can be poorly made and it becomes sticky, while something like Slime Obsidian produces good quality slimes and he makes sure they don't stick to the persons hand. Slimes can also melt during shipping or after a very long time of not playing, which in this case you can reactivate it with activator (note that it is borax) or throw it out. 3. Wait, it's eco friendly right? Elmers glue (that is the main ingredient to slime) is biodegradable, the glitters/sprinkles/beads/whatever the small things in the slimes are most likely eco friendly, the containers can be used for something else and the miniture items can be for your kids school projects!
