Stuck mouthpiece is the worst for most brass instruments(specifically trumpets, trombones, maybe French horns) so I feel this
The pain of a stuck mouthpiece is an unforgettable one, especially if SOMEONE ELSE did it 🥲
In 2017, I “played” the bassoon, I just pretended to know what I was doing and just repeated the same ten notes depending on the highs and lows, the teacher had no clue what I was doing, the band even competed in state and the judges couldn’t tell either, in fact they complimented me on how well I played the song and singled me out. The band class I was in got top 5 in that competition. The bassoon I was playing on had been stolen from the town just north of the school I was going to at the time, it was stolen by my bio mother 6-8 years prior around the time I was in karate, she was in that towns orchestra and “forgot” to leave it behind.

I used to play the trombone in 4th grade so I know your pain and now I'm in grade 6 and I still play it
Oh my goodness!! You are now probably one of my favorite people! As a fellow trumpet, I feel that. One time I sat on my trumpet(I’m heavy) and it pushed the second slide into the valve and my middle key wouldn’t go down. We were at an away game and my section leader was with me and took it to the band director so I didn’t have to. One of the rookies lent me theirs to play for the show cus they don’t play anyways. Got a new one and last week I sat on it again and it dented it really bad but it still plays.
At almost every game, I would chip at least 2 reeds (I play alto sax) and my section leader is just so done with me asking for reeds lmao
For us it was “FAKE IT TILL YA MAKE IT!” Nah bro but RIP your trumpet and your bank account 😭
When one of the seniors that graduated this year was in like 7th grade, he threw his trumpet on the ground and had to get the end sawed off to get the mouthpiece out 😭😭
You have to get the “I haven’t been in here for 5 years closet” special and get the mouthpiece yoinker.
I respect even more now because this is so relatable
I play the clarinet and from time to time i break my reed so I won’t have to play sometimes I just hide it😂
i play trumpet, my mouth piece has gotten stuck multiple times. I told the teacher and they got it out, most likely they wont be max because it happens sometimessss
As a trumpet play this relatable you should have told your band director before I’m sure that they would’ve had a mouth piece popper for the brass instruments and what band did you guys have to bring stands out to the field that’s very odd
@ezra3268
2 жыл бұрын
But it's even worse when it gets so stuck that they can't get it out so you have to bring it to the place you got it from. (I know from experience, I dropped it on the bus going home from a football game, it sucked having to hold it in my lap for the entire 2 hour bus ride home)
Lollll, omg that sounds almost exactly what happened to me!! I play saxophone and all of a sudden the mouth piece that holds the reed literally broke. If I played a note it would squeak SOO LOUD. We were gonna get me a new mouth piece but it was gonna be the exact same time the concert was gonna start. So I couldn’t practice. The mouth pieces I used then was rly tricky to play at the beginning and so... I faked the first song.
I love how band teachers are like if you don’t know it fake I t
Our band had special mouthpiece removers which was just a pair of pliers, I always got scared and had my trumpet stuck twice and used to use all my strength to try to not ask the band director

As a beginner trumpet player i can feel this pain.
Imagine if he had a solo as soon as his trumpet stopped playing
My sophomore year I played on a C trumpet sometimes for fun. Me and my euphonium player brother used to write duet arrangements for happy birthday to play for people. When he forgot to transpose my part for Bb Instruments, I used my C trumpet for the performance. After we played the duet, I set my trumpet on a piano bench. It fell off and the mouthpiece got stuck. That night while trying to remove it (I didn't have a puller), the lead pipe was ripped straight off of the rest of the instrument. RIP
