Came to see how I could do this, enjoyed some Radiohead too. Even the sped up version of creep at the start 😂

What are the dimensions of the timber and the insulation? also is it cavity or loft insulation?

Did you leave any gaps in the mdf for expansion? Can't see it realllly being a problem in UK lol? Maybe for four days a year when it's redders. I went OSB as I got it dirt cheap but I keep seeing "oh you must leave a gap!"

Do you think this same method would work for my 3 fully insullatwd car garage. I have a pool table, TV, darts, gym in there and the 2 car garage door we don't use it at all so I will like to put a temporary wall so it will be more cozy and use the wall to hung up stuff too?

Thank you for the video. I am planning to do the same in my attached single garage. I am just slightly worried about damp settling into the garage, as I plan to totally seal the stud wall with sealant on the sides. This would block any ventilation, hence help damp to form. But it would help keep the garage warm I am hoping. Any advice in regards to the damp at all please? I am really confused in this regard, but would really like to go ahead with this project in order to make my garage look more like a room, and become much warmer hopefully. Kind Regards Umair

I sealed the bottom edges of the base plate and painted it to protect the wood - on the door side. It's then just sealed on the inside. As there's plenty ventilation around the garage door itself any dampness in the cavity should dry out fine. Never been an issue for me. 👍

Firstly thanks for this great video. I would like to ask you how you made sure that no water would leak through the garage door into the isolation and the walls you put up. We are thinking about doing the same to our garage door as a temporary solution.

The bottom plate of the stud is painted and sealed with all weather sealant - I haven't sealed the door from the outside as I'd rather air could circulate so that if any dampness does get in it can dry out naturally. All fine and removable in about 1-2 hrs. 👍😀

what has the improvement been like? Still Baltic or more Italian?

More dense (so better sound / heat insulation), easier to paint and about the same price. 👍

is this legal? ive heard towns wont let you do this to create more legal square footage to replace the garage

It doesn’t count toward the livable square footage of the property. It is allowed here, in Washington state. No permit needed unless adjusting the current HVAC to the garage. Then everything must be updated to code and can get very $$$$$

If this video is suppose to teach the viewer it’s too fast. Not very informative.
