HOW I Become The ULTRA Distance NATIONAL CHAMP???

Спорт

The ultra distance national championships was held in Reno Nevada in August 2022. The course was an out and back that covered 508 miles or 817 km.
The sport of cycling has many different disciplines, the one that I have found to be best for me as ultra distance. The rules for ultra distance is you are allowed to bike swap and have a follow car at all times the goal for ultra distance cycling in the open category is to go as fast as humanly possible
I raced on the Canyon speedmax with the Cadex full disk and Quad spoke wheels. I had a climbing bike, which was the Canyon ultimate also on Cadex wheels. I had a back up TT bike just in case things went wrong.
I was fueled by Delta G ketones and powered by an amazing crew. In this cycling video, I break down how I became a national champion of ultra distance cycling.

Here is the Strava file if anyone is interested : www.strava.com/activities/7824323761 - I ABSOLUTELY Could NOT have done this without you! YOU drove me to keep pushing and do something SO OUTSIDE of my abilities. But now... I gotta repeat this thing. 2 time Natty is my goal and that race will be mid July in Oregon. YEEEW!!! - ridebikes.com/

Race Across Oregon 2023, yeah! I've been working that race for years, enjoy helping to put it on. I hope that while you're pushing yourself all the way you'll still manage to enjoy the beauty of that part of Oregon. I love being in that part of the country. Oh, and since you like climbing, enjoy twice the climbing of the 508. ;)

Tyler, I have been waiting for this video and it couldn't have come at a better time. i just went out for a 200 mile event on my handcycle (arm power baby) this passed weekend and i DNF! it was my 2nd ever and it is destroying me. I have another event coming up at the end of April and I had convinced myself I needed to back out. There was no way I could possibly go out after this piss poor showing and face people that i am supposedly inspiring. Well at 17:52 you spoke about the struggle, the mind fuck, and resilience. it made me realize what i am doing to myself. I'm not going to make another post because my ass is going to get back on my handcycle and kill this next event. Everyone has been telling me what they think I need to hear. You verbalizing this struggle is what i NEEDED to hear. So thank you bro I would not have made this decision to participate at this next event if not for this. so proud of you bro and thanks again!

It’s only a failure if you don’t learn from it. I’ve failed 1,000 times and learned a little nugget each time which all came together in the moment in the dirt. Those mind gremlins are nasty, but you don’t have to listen to them. They are not you. They are your body trying to stay safe and warm and fed and alive. Next time tell the mind to fuk off and let your body do it’s thing.

Hey man, coming off my first DNF in October I felt the same damn way. I took a few days off to heal then absolutely hit it and haven't let up since. I've been strength training off the bike, riding like a madman, fixed my diet, and cut alcohol WAY down. Went out last month and absolutely crushed the Huracan 300 as redemption for that DNF. Push, get back up, and overcome. You GOT this dude!

I have enough stoke and motivation for the next month of riding now… Chatting with you about the mental game stuff has always been super super interesting to me. I feel like I can relate from my little 7 days trips and such and every time I watch an impossible route or a video like this, it opens my eyes to a new aspect or approach of the mental game.
