I am in sixth grade and I have gotten bullied every year that I have been in school but when I found you in like the fourth grade yes, I already liked reading but, I didn't read much. The bullying got worse and then I found you. I began to read more and more and I was happy! People bullied me even more because they reading was for dorks, but I DID NOT CARE! reading still is my escape and my life. If I never found you....I probably would have been in heavy counciling, and in a depressed mental state, my parents were getting divorced, I moved away from close friends and my life was meaningless....but...then...I found you......my inspiration and my idol. I wish I could meet you in real life....and talk about all things books and millions of other things! I hope you read this and just know...your effort helps so many people and I am one of those people. Have a great day and life. With love, - A fellow book nerd Edit: I garuntee that this comment will never be read but I wanted to say what heart says with everything you do.

Hi Christine! This video being really heartfelt, (I may have cried...just a little bit) I thought this was a good opportunity to leave this message: You were the first booktuber I ever watched. I remember it was a couple of years ago (woah. time flies) before The Blood of Olympus has come out, and this was when I was so obsessed with Percy Jackson and just reading in general. In that year (2014) I read a bunch of books that opened my eyes to reading. Percy Jackson, Divergent, The Maze Runner. But I was mostly obsessed with Percy Jackson. So I heard about the unboxings with the clues and I immediately searched and watched every single video. You were the first one I watched. I remember thinking "wow her lipstick is really pretty" and for some reason your video stuck with me when I finished watching all the others. I came back to your channel and subscribed. I went through your videos and watched them over and over. (More in comments)

Through that I found your second channel, which I adored. I find it so interesting that we shared similar interests. I loved books, but before I was a reader I wanted to be a director. Actually in 3rd grade I established a "theater group" with some other kids in my grade and my best friend and I would write plays for all of us to perform. Also, this is going to sound crazy but not only was I in to videos, plays, and books, but I was also a dancer. I loved your dancing videos as well as your others because I always loved dance. Anyway, through your channel I have become a better reader, and student. Sometimes I'll walk around in bookstores and be like "Oh! Christine recommended that!" Booklion forever! xx

This is so emotional and relatable I just can't. And Christine, you are one of the people that I need to thank for making me the reader I am. I mean I loved books from childhood, but when I started picking out novels and when I started watching Booktube videos I just COULDNT stop. I was always excited to finish a book and immediately watch your reviews to see what you thought! All throughout the books at certain points I would be like "What would Christine think of this? What would Cass? Natasha? Katy? Sasha? Jessie think?" Because Booktube videos DO change a reader. And these videos have also helped me to start writing a book of my own! The daydreams about YOU reviewing my book someday is what keeps me going. So thank you Christine! Thank you for doing all you do and just existing in general!

Christine, i found your channel when i was just going into 6th grade when i was just going to a new school, and at my old school everyone hated to read, but at this new school, every kid loved to read and if you read your book after finishing a test or something you werent made fun of for being a nerd. I was one of the kids at that point that thought reading was weird and nerdy, but then one day i watched all of your book reviews for the darkest minds and i had to drag my mom to barns and noble so i could read the series. I'm in 9th grade right now, and every day despite my copious amounts of homework, i make sure to squeeze in a few hours of reading. Thank you so much for making videos, since 6th grade my vocabulary and spelling skilling have gone up so so much and i know i can blame it on reading and your channel

The people who got me into reading were definitely my family, ever since I knew basic words I was read a book or story every night before bed. Then as I got older and understood more words I began to read the Percy Jackson series, my dad would read me a chapter each night. Then as I got even older I began to read "the hunger games" and then "the mortal instruments" and then "throne of glass" etc, which was all due to my sister and her massive collection of books. I'm so glad I was always encouraged to read because it is one of my favourite hobbies and led me to your channel :)

I discovered my love for reading in 6th grade when my reading teacher had class sets of books and she would makes us popcorn around the class reading paragraphs or chapters. I was actually a pretty bad reader, like stumbling on words and having to sound them out but this class helped me so much, and everyone was so patient. I'm not sure what made us such angel 6th graders but I am so grateful that no one laughed or was disrespectful in that class especially to the slow readers. Although i do remember one time my friend Brian read Hola (the Spanish hello) like HOLLA! that has stayed with me for 10 years! I think I cried laughing that day.

Thank you Christine! You changed my reading life forever! Harry Potter was the first book/series I had ever read by myself. I started reading them when I was in first grade, and finished all 7 by the time I started 4th grade. My third grade teacher saw me reading Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire during free time, and she took it away and said "Emma, you are not smart enough to read a big book that. You won't be able to comprehend that until your in 8th grade." I was crushed. Now 4 years later, I found your Harry Potter book talks. I loved your personality and I could clearly see how passionate you were about books, so I continued to watch more of your videos. I heard you talk about Twilight and how it saved your reading life, so I decided to give it a try. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Twilight now ranks #2 in my all time favorite series of all time. Since then I can't stop reading. I now finish a book about every couple of days. Every book I hear that you enjoyed, I just can't resist adding it onto my TBR. Now I hear your writing you own book, and I know I'm going to love it! Thank you so much for creating awesome videos that inspire me to read every day! Because of you I want to start my own BookTube channel, but I'm afraid I'm too young. Thank you for changing our lives for the better whenever you upload a new video!

Christine, you are not the reason I started reading, but you are the reason I kept reading no matter what. Everytime I was in a slump and I was about to give up on reading, you came with your videos and showed me new interesting books. And maybe they weren't that interesting, but the way you talked about them made me want to read them too. You were for me this book fairy that was excited to talk about books at any hour and it made me realize just how amazing books are and how many books are out there waiting for me to read them. You are the best person ever, Christine! Because you helped me and rescued me so many times I can't even count them. Thank you so much, I love you forever!

They give me more love and courage and patience. Thank you.

You were the first booktuber I ever came across. In 8th grade for school the entire grade read "The Hunger Games." I completed the book before anyone else did and begged my mom for Catching Fire and Mokingjay. The day the movie came out the entire 8th grade class went on a trip to the movie theaters to see it. A couple days after I looked up movie review videos for "The Hunger Games" and immediately subscribed! I've been a fan since 2012 and still am to this day. You and "The Hunger Games" made me addicted to reading and I currently have over 200 books. My shelf is almost completely full lol. Keep up the great work, we love you!!

I've always loved reading. Ever since I was a little girl. It makes me a little bit sad when people say, "I don't like reading" or "readings is boring" or even. "Why would you spend your time reading a book?"It makes me sad to hear people say that because reading really is important. With books, you're stepping into another world, another place, and you're reading about things that couldn't happen or things that could. With reading, you're broadening your mind, you're expanding your vocabulary, you're becoming a better writer, and you're observing how other writers write, so that you can apply different things to your own writing, and learn how to improve. And I don't think the people who claim to not like reading realize that. They don't realize what reading truly does for us. Reading has completely changed my life, and I always find myself wanting to read more! I hope my love of reading never stops, and I hope it continues for many years to come. What people don't realize is that reading is very important, and it's a nice escape to delve into. It breaks my heart when people say they don't like to read. If you tried reading, you might fall in love with it like I have, and like other people have. Reading is something I feel like more people should be doing. Because if they did, I feel like some of them would enjoy it.

Honestly, reading's been a hobby for me ever since I was in third grade, but it wasn't as intense as it is now. And then I found your channel, Christine, along with Jesse's, Katy's, Sasha's, and Tilly's, and OMYGOSH YOU PEOPLE ARE A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. And yeah, I so get you on your frustration of how people think that reading "for fun" is useless. Apart from seeing the world through the author's eyes and figuring out that you're not alone, it just lets you escape from the shi* in your life, and as teenagers, we need that escape because sometimes we feel like everything's on our shoulders, but reading helps us remember that the one who wrote what we're reading may have gotten through the same situation, or maybe they've gone through worse, and you become more open-minded and remember that you're still so lucky to have the things you do have and distract you from dwelling on the things you don't. And YOU HELPED ME BECOME THE READING HUMAN I AM AND IT'S HELPED ME IMMENSELY. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH.

This was emotional and beautiful! ♡ When I was about 7 years old I had to have a needle and I was deathy afraid of needles, so my nana bought me a book for being brave. That book was The Magic Faraway Tree and it was the first book that got me into the love of reading. My aunty Wendy also inspired the love of reading because she would always buy me books for Christmas, she would always gush about books that she loved and she has a library of books; bookshelf in every room. About 2 years ago I kind of lost my passion for reading. I was in a depression state where I couldn't bring myself to do things that I loved; such as reading. I didn't read for a year, until I came across yours and Katytastics videos and they inspired me to pick up a book and start reading again. Your videos gave me that spark I needed to read again. I will always be a fan of your videos. Thank you :)
