if you have a bluetooth speaker and a phone you don’t need anything else. you don’t need to play guitar. and if you don’t know anyone else doing it all the more reason to go out there, no competition and your area would appreciate you more because they don’t have anyone else doing it!

@@simpilot001 ever think of trying again? for me it was surprisingly fast growing when i first started and i totally took it for granted and it never really came back like that. also in june some years ago as well they put one of my videos on the front page for about a month and i actually made a lot of money for that one moment lol. i should have kept posting at that time hardcore but i was arena touring in europe w the elvis band every day on a bus. there wasn’t really any way

Very interesting ,inspiring and motivating story David! Thanks for sharing it! I really relate with your story, I am a bass, and I am also stuck with the range, not being able to go higher than D4. Trying to learn mixed voice for awhile (taking lessons now) but also feel the "bass curse". How were you able to get these high notes? Saw your video about mixed voice, any more videos coming about it soon? Really need help from a bass singer. Thanks a lot and keep going!

when i first started singing i couldn’t sing above d4 either! learning mix voice (with underlying foundation of bel canto) really was the solution for me coupled with thousands of hours of (mostly) careful practice. i definitely plan to make more tutorials for singing i just am so busy these days, flying to a show in boston coming up this week and i still have a ridiculous amount of music to learn for that still😅 the best most simple exercises you should work forever on are slow QUIET sirens and scales from low chest to high falsetto then high falsetto to low chest allowing your voice to gently mix in between. work the passagio and don’t expect it to be pretty for a long time. go over the clumsiest areas extra as those are what is needed most. also i do teach lessons very rarely and if you are interested in that send me an email at davidkahnsings@gmail.com or dm on instagram @davidkahnsings. and sing on! if i can do it, you can too🙌 also have you ever considered busking? going out and busking for 4-5 hours many days a week over the course of many years starting with singing low material then medium then high is a great exercise that helped me immensely as well.

hey marisa😁 that is so cool to hear you’re open to trying it, i definitely think you should! it changed my whole life. but even if it doesn’t for everyone i think it is still very fun, a good way to make money, practice music in a performance setting, learn how to be entertainer, so many reasons i loved it. we’re ever in the same area i’d go w you!

I've been practicing for the past 4 months...I discover how to creat the mixed voice and I'm just getting better and better...but my head voice is stuck at G5...any advice for stretching it...and I'm also hearing about flageolet...but I don't know how to train it.

congrats on finding your mix voice! i’d say for stretching it carefully try sliding up from your low/mid chest voice into your higher head voice QUIETLY and slowly. let your voice shift into mix in between. and g5 is plenty high for most songs. pick a handful of tunes you like to sing and get out there and give it a try, you will learn so much by going out and performing. no need to really stretch much more but it will stretch as you keep using it all🙌
