I’m not sure. It depends on what exactly they are looking for. No harm in going for it! If u want to apply to public schools u need to get certified. If it’s a private school then u don’t need to.

How long will take to be a drama teacher! I’m looking the steps to take for my son , he’s very good and the was he’s dream career, but he stop college to help me with rent bc I was having hard time .. now i want him to study .

It took me 6 years. 4 years of undergraduate and 2 years of graduate. However, I know many people who just studied theater education for undergrad and never got a masters but they were still able to work as drama teachers. So I guess you could do it in only 4 years.

NYU has a great undergrad educational theater program. Also check out the city college of NY. I know they have a graduate program but they might have an undergrad program too!
