@erock.steady
3 жыл бұрын
a legend is a lie isn't it? a tall tale told the children, a yarn spun from days of yore. it's easier to pass off a big fat lie as a "legendary" non-lie if - A) none of the names are changed to protect the innocent. or the guilty as hail. and B) everybody in the story and their immediate families are all dead. due to natural causes. after living long lives. remember to place the accent on the second syllable... leh-JHEN-daree. takes a couple tries but with practice you too can begin to speak of the leh-JHEN-daree and do so properly.
That tip on soloing and slowing down while others keep tempo is actually super cool, I will definitely keep that in mind
@D3v1ance
3 жыл бұрын
Just gotta make sure that the others know they're acting as your metronome for the moment. Without some amount of warning, they may think they're supposed to slow down with you as drums are seen as the primary rhythm keeper.
@jakubkub3178

@@D3v1ance Yeah I agree, communication is important, off and on stage both
@MaggaraMarine
3 жыл бұрын
@@D3v1ance This. If someone slows down accidentally, it's kind of a dick move to just insist on playing in the original tempo, making everything sound out of sync. Even if you are correct, it's pretty arrogant to imply that "my internal metronome is the correct one here - you are the one that needs to learn how to count" with your playing. Sometimes people accidentally skip a beat or slow down/speed up or whatever, but no one in the audience will notice it if the band simply follows it. But if someone cares more about being "correct" than making the band as a whole sound good, then the mistake is also going to be noticeable to everyone in the audience. In other words, don't do this unless you know the musicians that you are playing with really well.
Can we appreciate just how much the bass player is vibin. I love when people I'm drumming with are as hyped as me

Still the most hilarious and amazing drummer on KZread 🤩 I’m really glad I found you months ago and this dude right here inspired to practice my drums HAHAHA keep going zack 😆
Zack Your boundless playing ability and enthusiasm just makes me smile each time I watch you play - thank you Music is about expression and bringing joy to people and the player
You are a great guy and musician Zack so you deserve even more subs. I'm really enjoying every single video you post, so finding your channel is among the best things that happened during the quarantine. ❤️👌
Epic new Zack upload, now this is swag 😎💯
Zack you are such an amazing natural talent with rhythm! You vibed to a vamp and made so many polyrhythms in a solo on the fly while performing live lol like wth. even at the end of this video you showed how easily your brain could automatically go off a basic metronome time and make it your own in so many ways, that's special! We love what you do on a drum kit
Always some great sage advice, witty humor, and phenomenal playing! Happy drumming!
It’s always so rewarding waiting til the very end of the videos

Thanks for saying that music should be fun! When I first started playing in my church's worship band (a LOT of fun!!) I had the sternest look on my face the whole time lol, but then I started to do my own thing (when it was ok in the music) and smile, which made me have even MORE fun!!
I had this weird discovery that he looks like Dwayne Johnson with a hair.
Dude your style of playing is just lovely
You and your brother are wonderful story tellers and promising professional jazz musicians. Great to watch your story as you transition from students to working professionals. Awaiting your ECM debut!
Can you post the full song/concert? I’d love to watch it. You’re a big inspiration.
Don't worry !!!! U are one heck of a JAZZ PLAYER !!! u are one of my jazz inspiration!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are so talented!
man you are amazing, I start playng the drums like 4 or 5 months and I love ypur groove and sense of how to play, regards from Mexico!
I've done the same thing in my jazz recital. However, the song we played was "I've Got Something In My Frontpocket" by Butters, from South Park. So the solo felt quite appropriate, haha.
