This sounds like an illegal give away of public money! People who had their houses demolished are long gone and were compensated if they owned them anyhow!

they weren’t adequately compensated, it was pennies on the dollar that they were given

@@guyfawkesuThe1literally there’s tons of documentation of people getting terrible value on the sales when forced out of their homes. You’re ok with the government just taking your house, giving you a buck, and saying go f yourself?
My God, people have been bitching about this for over 60 years, it's time to move on. Yes, I 94 happened, mndot apologized. Even if it was returned to the way it looked in the 40's it won't ever be the same. Nearly all those from that era have passed away. Unfortunately in our world today people just can't let something go or move on. People want others to feel guilt and apologize for something they didn't do, to people who it didn't effect. I'm tired of that BS and I wish people could just try and understand, each other instead of dragging up past wrongs. My life wasn't perfect but I don't dwell on what happened, I work with what is now.

Well said Jay ! I-94 had to take land somewhere and the people who lived in Rondo probably have used the freeway. I'm tired of hearing all the bitching too.
There's bridges across the freeway it's not torn apart.
Nick Davis changed his last name. I hear stories from my family all the times about Rondo neighborhood

This happened to countless neighborhoods in cities all over this country. Let's stop with car supremacy once and for all.

NO I didn't just build a 455 Oldsmobile Engine to look at it, it's now proudly in my 442. At 10mpg I'm not saving any planets
Here is a link to a 1990 interview with Evelyn Fairbanks, author of DAYS OF RONDO, about growing up in the Rondo neighborhood. NORTHERN LIGHTS Minnesota Author Interview TV Series: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKitq9mKk5OvaJc.html
Pay the people what they are owed in reparations instead.

It's not a chapter news lady it's a continuing book !!
They have bigger issues than the highway running through the neighborhood.
