How Hubstaff Tracking Features Work
Hubstaff works like a traditional time tracking app installed on a mobile device or desktop. However, Hubstaff was built with our guiding principles of transparency, access, and control in mind. It’s important to us that your team knows how the software works, has access to all of their own data, and can control how the apps run on their devices.
Principle #1 - Control [00:25]
With Hubstaff employees are in control. You decide when to start the timer, and can easily stop it whenever you need to do something else. The app only captures proof of work (screenshots, app and URL tracking, and activity rates) if your organization has these features turned on and you’re actively tracking time.
Principle #2 - Transparency [1:02]
Hubstaff isn’t designed to run without your knowledge. The apps are intentionally transparent about what they’re doing. Notifications tell you when screenshots are taken and when you start and stop the timer. So there’s no question about when and how Hubstaff is working.
Principle #3 - Access to your own data [2:06]
You have access to your own data and can see exactly what management sees. Further, Hubstaff’s default settings allow you to delete your time and the information attached to it if you choose. Your data will never be sold to third parties.

I think all big companies will use such software eventually. It's a side effect of work from home.

Hi I'm an employee, and I checked the tracker, I went to the apps tab and saw that it's turned off. Does it mean that they don't track my apps and urls or are they tracking it and I'm not able to see?

It means you're apps and URLs are not being tracked if your data is being tracked you'll be able to see it as an employee on your dashboard!
This is easy-to-click time tracking.
where can I find my monthly total hours?
Really cool to see the type of control and privacy options you guys provide employees. It's as important to think about employees as it is the employers I would say, thanks!
Does hubstaff can still monitor activities even if you're on break?

Hey Vince! No Hubstaff doesn't monitor activities while on break we have a work break feature built in as well to designate specific time frames for breaks also anytime you're clocked out activity won't be tracked either. thanks so much for your question and for stopping by our channel!

@@Hubstaff hi, does that mean that even if the timer for breaktime is running, it won't monitor my activity? Just wanna make sure since our company restricts opening websites such as KZread, and it is my habit to watch videos while on break. Thank you for answering my question

I'm just starting to use this software. I have a question I need to be clear on. Assuming I start a project on my PC and I also put on my hubstaff so that my activities can be tracked. If I put off my PC, will it continue from the time I stopped when my PC comes on? Also, does hubstaff works with the internet? That is, if my PC is not connected to the internet, will activities still be tracked?
DO NOT USE HUBSTAFF - They charge excess fees after you sign up and they REFUSE to refund you. VERY DODGY BUSINESS.
Dude just made a legit hacking software and named it as hubstaff. Put a label that you don't misuse the data (with a lot of money given to law) and viola you have a legit hacking tool

@@Hubstaff But we do not choose do we? Companies use fckstaff to monitor us and we just have to comply or get fired. Not much of a choice ain't it. Thanks for destroying remote workers there daily lives. Not only do we not get any benefit because we are working from home, we are also more closely monitored then those who work in a office.
