The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is so large-so detailed and varied, so full of stories and inspirations. So many things to talk about. I’ve already made a video looking at the historical accuracy of Red Dead Redemption 2 from a broad perspective, but I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. There are so many events, items, locations, so many people, expressions, and traditions-and I want to know more about all of them. So, starting all the way back at the beginning, this is the real history of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The Real History is a series of videos about historical video games, examining the true events that inspired them. Whether it's set in the 13th century, the 1990s, or an alternate reality, each game has a unique aspect based on or inspired by true historical events, and I'll try to examine these in an educational and entertaining format.

Thank so much for checking out the video! I know I've already looked at the historical accuracy of Red Dead Redemption 2 from a broad perspective, but this game is so large, I feel like there's so much more to look at. And I'll never miss the chance to make a video about this game! If you're interested in supporting the channel more, feel free to share the video or take a look at the benefits on Patreon. Honestly, though, your view is already more support than I could have ever asked for, and your comments mean the world to me. Your support is what keeps me going, and I can't thank you enough. What did you think of the video? Interested to see more information about chapter 2? Let me know!

A note about Arthur’s remark to Pearson “getting up to in the Navy”. In the US and UK men would spend long at sea and it wasnt uncommon for homosexual relationships to develop. Since no women were around theyd get out their pent up frustrations with other men. This is why when Navymen would come back home theyd get jabs at for this reputation even if the individual never got on with this. So Arthur could also be jabbing at Pearson when he says “I dont want to hear what you got up to in the Navy”.

The two storms mentioned at the beginning, both the ones in Berthoud and in Windsor Colorado, actually adds to the credibility of the storm in the game, Windsor and Berthoud are on the front range/ plains, so any weather hitting them would also affect the weather in the mountains where it's generally worse and gets more snowfall. The 19th century is such an interesting time in history. Not just for the United States but the whole world. It was a very transitional time I feel, and is when we can first start seeing many things that we take for granted today but were very new and odd back then. I'm glad Rockstar put so much attention to detail into the historical accuracy. Without sacrificing gameplay of course.

Thats very disrespectful... Rodents and bugs are way more valuable than children. Rodents can be cute pets that don't need much responsibility to take care of and bugs can be used as food alternatives.

I love how packed with information this video is. Fantastic work as always! I hope you don't stop doing RDR videos. Personally I'm more interested on the historical events, background and customs of the people. Rather than the history of the objects. I'd trade more time focusing on people rather than items.
